      1000 times this.

“Umm agchallee, the US is an oligarchy like china so best to just shit talk anyone calling for change 🤡”

Am (immigrant) American and i def understand the frustration others feel seeing our dirty laundry aired in all the public spaces. On a selfish note, however, if thats what it takes for people to take action or at the very least vote either here or literally any other country, then so be it.

Also this meme is funny. Cant help it, great format.

i think us politics being posted everywhere is what’s annoying. do you even notice how they are everywhere? i dont see thousands of memes about australian elections.

if you want to post about your local politics on international platforms, you got to handle ppl telling you they dont know anything about that. you can always go to dedicated us politics spaces, if it bothers you so much.

i promise i won’t give a shit or troll in your comments section because i fully recognize the value of such activity! :)

edit: and genuinely if you need to block me or other us-centric accounts, do it. just stop fReaking harrasing me and calling people names it’s not the solution.

Nah i think the solution is not, everybody spamming communities with their local politics that have no international value.

The solution is, to post things that matter to everyone in shared communities and to either not post the rest or create communities for those topics.

I think it just depends, for example its good to get attention to things like the abortion situation in the US, or the recent semi legalization of cannabis in Germany. These are things that either directly or indirectly affect lots of people outside of the respective country.

But yeah, its just impossible to “objectively” decide what is important / relevant to many people and whats not.

i mean, politics in the united states are most of the time a beautifully intricate deadly trainwreck…

anyhow, sub-communities should be the answer, if you had to live in the country to grock it, then you better post it in there instead of on the broadest possible channel… not implying that op did use the broadest channel possible or by choice, im just walking by and seeing all this from a-far, i surely do hope you all finally get out of there though… good luck with that from the depth of my heart. but yeah probably just in the community-of-choice, the place-to-be, most people know where and what the us is, so why not? …

i mean, i dont mind it, but i wouldnt mind moving it into the intricate deadly or trainwreck communities either, your choice really. :P

again, i hope a miracle happens and karl marx himself reassembles himself, one last time to punch all fascists in the face… or something, idk, i havent got a clue and i dont really care how the us gets out of its messes but good luck. and sure it might affect me eventually, but what am i gonna do about it except tell you mundane things like: how about you accept more than one party into the government like germany for example?

perhaps in germany everything takes longer, but at least they (refering to the bundesrepublik here) didnt have to start any wars or do any coups… i think, i hope… i am kinda living under a rock, pls be kind but do educate, cuz either would be nuts

Do you have any idea how many news articles we have to read about your insane election system that has campaigning for 3/4 years instead of normal countries that campaign for 2 months? Like the entire campaign seasons of Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, and Spain, take up combined less time every 4 years than the US’s primaries do.

Fair, harassment / trolling in a harassing way is never an ok response, but people are allowed to be critical of too much American content overwhelming a community. Americans may think everything that happens in those 3 campaigning years matter but the rest of the world doesn’t necessarily.

You can block the communities/instances that such content is posted to often, or you can try a content filter to filter out posts you don’t want to see.

Being annoyed at US-centric posts on a US-based social media website is a little silly, I think. I do get it, though

And when you mention how other countries are doing better and USA should copy them (like having ranked choice voting to rid the two-party system), Americans will either pretend they didn’t hear that or will go “wE aRe tOo dIvErSE fOr tHaT sHeEiItT”. I was told by someone that Americans generally do not want adopt a system from outside unless they made it themselves. So I guess nationalism also plays a role, too.

No mate, I don’t think you bloody well do get it. I loathe that I am from a country that speaks the same language. Your country’s backwards, hateful culture leeches it’s way into mine. You will never understand what it’s like dealing with that. It’s not annoying, it is emotionally and mentally exhausting. As a trans person it hurts so much to see my siblings there fearing for their lives. Hearing about children being massacred again, and again, and again while nothing is done to stop it. Worrying that my country will be dragged into another war in Asia by your government (only country that’s joined you on all your stupid expeditions since Korea). You won’t ever get it because you’re just a filthy seppo. Now could you stop acting like you’re special in my feed please?

      try fucking living here.

(to be clear, you are the one who once again escalated this to name calling and personal attacks. so i apologize if this message comes across as strong but i feel it is warranted.)

i am so sorry you feel personally offended when i try to communicate potentially life saving political nuance and debate with people on what i understand to always have been a majority-US community* every once in a while. it must be a huge huge emotional burden to see that on your screen. i suppose you never considered that there are actual human beings living through this shit. actual human beings fucking dying because of this shit. that’s nothing, nothing compared to having to see it from your little meme and news website huh?

to be clear, i do not seek to minimize your experience. your emotional journey through this modern hellscape is valid. period. with no caveat.

but don’t use your negative emotional experience to justify hateful and dismissive of my lived fucking material reality.

i’m going to more or less clear out the post because a) i don’t think it’s very funny (my one true failing i am sorry 😓) but b) i don’t really like being continuously called names (shocker, i know). also c) im worried all of your personal attacks and shit is going to upset the mods, whom i hugely respect and don’t deserve to deal with such things.

good job, you bullied me into submission. once again, i reiterate the title of this post, which it’s utterly clear never sank in. be considerate. please.

Bite me? I’ve gone to my senator and talked to them about granting asylum to trans people from the states if Lord Cheese Puff gets re-elected. Not an email, in person. What the fuck have you ever done for anyone in my country?

I’m sorry, truly I am, that this post has caused you grief. But it was always going too. The rest of the world is just so, so, so exhausted from hearing about your politics.

Also, like, yeah it’s majority US because it’s an English-speaking community and y’all dominate the anglosphere population-wise. Did you know the admins of blahaj are actually Australian? So can we please not turn this into reddit where r/news is for american news and r/worldnews is for everyone else for fuck’s sake. What possible indicator did you get that 196 is just Seppos? That we’re speaking English? God that’s the exact kind of american essentialism that keeps me up at night.

Edit: I also commented on that other post and had the same opinion as you on it. So I particularly don’t enjoy this whingy rant about people from other countries not getting involved. If you don’t want that, create a space just for American stuff. Don’t complain when you post it in a general bloody group.
