“Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.”
“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
-George Bernard Shaw

I recall the first time I saw these as a kid when visiting my mother in Alberta. I hated them then and I’m not sure it’s changed since then. Haven’t seen them in BC.
I think the most we will hear is how it’s all Trudeau’s fault and the government is ruining their lives…
Is it because they aren’t real and robots don’t need food?

Reminds me a little of that Top Gear episode of when they were driving through the deep south… Shots will be fired…
Just like the good old days when athletes would smoke during breaks in the game. They sure were great times!
I feel like an outsider on these debates. I totally agree we should be able to own forever.
In my case I find there is so much new TV and movies I rarely go back to re-watch shows or movies so owning them isn’t on my radar. It’s a challenge just to watch a whole series I find.
I’m wondering how often do people beyond kids re-watch movies and TV shows? Kids seem to be able to rewatch the same movies several times a day…
Or you melt down the pot which I’ve done by not paying attention to the pot that boiled dried. I couldn’t figure out what this metal stuff coming out of the bottom of the pot was for a moment.
For me coming from the Westcoast with lots of rain at sea level the lack of drain fields around the houses in the Prairies was a similar moment for me when I was looking at homes for a move many years ago. Their drain spouts just run out into the yard above the ground. It was a what the heck is going on here?
Their basements are also fully enclosed under ground. On the coast we require a secondary drain field just for the down spouts and the basements are only halfway in the ground so it was very strange to me.
I don’t think the narrative is he was shut up is correct. Much like how there was a procedural step missed for selecting a trial by jury or by Judge in one of his trials, the judge asked for confirmation that the defendant Trump would stick to the rules of keeping his speech to the trial matters and not to the various other things he likes to ramble on about like a lunatic in a asylum.
The judge never received a response from the defense lawyers so it just expired after a few days. I suspect his lawyers didn’t want Trump to get up there and make matters worse for himself.
What a shame the inaction of one generation is going to mean eventually the younger generations becoming Cannon fodder again due to this burying the head in the sand and giving Putin just what he needs to keep going beyond Ukraine.
The older generation aren’t fans of the younger generations as it is so this should show them /s
The supporters don’t care about law and haven’t in a long time. They ignore this about him:
The more than 25 women who have accused Trump of sexual assault or misconduct (which he has denied), and the countless more who have endured public vitriol and threats to their life after being targeted by him, have all been punished either for challenging him or for denying him what he fundamentally believed was his due.
Laws are the least of their worries. Getting everyone to group think like them is more critical then they can get rid of everyone not like them.
“No one in Australia will be allowed to glorify or profit from acts and symbols that celebrate the Nazis and their evil ideology,” the press release said.
Glad to see someone mention the Profiting part.
I’ve always suspected a lot of this was due to grifters stoking these A-holes up to increase sales of the flags, shirts, hats, etc.
The Brandon thing was a big boon to the Maga grifters as it created more new things one needs to collect to show your true level of being a Patriot.
You could then change out your Trump flag curtains for the Brandon stuff. Some are brave enough to change them out for the Nazis stuff when the time is right too. It completes the set when combined with the Southern Surrender flags as your curtains or bath towel.
When I get asked if I watch soccer as a hockey fan I have the same feelings. The Women’s version of soccer is much tougher and I would rather watch that. They take a beating and get bloodied but keep playing unlike the men falling over including the coaches from being brushed by a piece of paper.
This video does a good job capturing the differences between coaches: https://youtu.be/9HxzLEqI-qE?si=VPWHKI081v80eA3k
This one does a great job highlighting the competition diving angle. I think artist *artistic diving might be more applicable though: https://youtu.be/_OXdfJgCmLc?si=7n-tIrOIsxznm49W
I refer to Soccer the football played with your foot and then the American version as " Egg-ball" played with your hands.
That said I’m also Canadian and for many years in our small “hand egg-ball” league we had 2 teams with very similar club names called the Rough Riders and the Roughriders so I shouldn’t be throwing so many stones…
I’m wondering who’s more HATED by their users /fans, Spez or Bettman? (NHL (Hockey) Commissioner)
I don’t even use a microwave and after seeing one of his 2 videos on the better ones I was looking for a older one. He’s that good
This seems to be the model I’ve witnessed with many apps over the years. Free at first to get traction and users, then ads, then pay one time fee to get rid of ads, then subscription to keep using the app.
Then there are those that wouldn’t even pay a single fee and get upset at the thought as everything should be free.
The part that is upsetting is the contributions the early community made is monetized when they were they there for the benefit of the community.
I do see there are costs to maintaining and updating these apps so I can understand a need to keep revenue flowing for these future costs. The one time payment is a hell of a deal for years with updates to accommodate the revisions needed for each system update let alone functionality improvements.
In the old days we would buy software for our PC and that was it. There wasn’t really any updates or further support for newer versions of Windows. The software would become very insecure or just stop functioning altogether with enough changes to windows.
It’s hard to find the right balance. I know I only want to pay once, or heck never, but I want these upgrades and updates too.
I saw a crazy Instagram video where the citizens are upset they are only trying to clean up the river for the Olympics not for the people that live there. They were trying to start a viral campaign to have everyone Sh8t in the river after the clean up is done.
