Regarding ballot eligibility- I think part of timing for this is that the Dems are about to have their “roll call” in the next week or two to officially nominate a candidate to get on ballots before the official full convention.

Are you talking about protesting by not voting or wasting a vote on a 3rd party? Without ranked choice voting, the only good spot for that is primaries and small local elections. I work with some people who’ve made quick little scripts for things like data processing, starting with ChatGPT, and fiddling with it to get it to work. When I had to do that a few years ago, I started with random forum posts instead. I don’t see those as being meaningfully different.
