Sure, maybe the hospital bills but raising 3 kids and going on vacations every year? You’re talking multi million dollar salary to be able to afford all of that on one income in SoCal of all places

I replaced all of mine with “fuck spez” and then deleted my account but not posts, so they’re still there. I went back and checked lol
Yep, it’s faster and it shows more posts than Memmy does for me. Logged in on the same account Memmy shows less posts from across the fediverse for whatever reason. Voyager shows everything I see on the desktop version of Lemmy.
Also a native app version with haptics and notifications is in the works for Voyager if that’s your kind of thing.
Yep and admins are removing posts about the censorship in the place sub apparently
I don’t believe that those scenarios are that plausible.
lol i think they said the same thing about the Titanic sinking. also the submarine guy said the same thing about it imploding.
Hmm 🤔
also all evidence that’s not conservative propaganda points to us hitting the worst possible outcomes when it comes to climate change. Read the IPCC reports and the worst case scenarios listed within. That’s what’s going to happen over the next ~40 years
Living in their own reality and being drip fed propaganda constantly
*for about 2 years until the next reformat lol
lol it’s the opposite for me. many people use terminal all day every day and run Linux VMs if necessary.
Both! It can absorb it on the surface through atmospheric diffusion and through photosynthesis from both algae and phytoplankton
Sure. Essentially what happens is the ocean absorbs much of the CO2 that’s released by us. If you’ve ever heard the term “ocean acidification” that’s what causes it.
Water and the oceans change on a much more gradual scale than the atmosphere, so it takes decades for the CO2 to be released back into the air. For example, if you bring a pot of water to an open flame it still takes time for the water to reach the temperature to boil, it’s not instantaneous.
The ocean is far more massive than our atmosphere. It’ll take time for the changes to take effect, especially a noticeable one on our end. But if you take a look at the ph levels of the oceans over the last century it becomes abundantly clear we’re messing things up big time.
Too bad there’s a lag time of about 40 years on emissions. We’re only feeling the effects of what was emitted in the early 80s. Imagine how bad it’ll be in 20 years time.
Dropped Netflix and got a Plex share with tens of thousands of movies and TV shows. Costs less than their 4K plan for several streams. Now they’re doing the “you can’t login in more than one location” bullshit? Back to sailing the high seas for me and hopefully many others
Indeed. If Wefwef can reach feature parity with Apollo (and I suppose lemmy with reddit lol) it would be an awesome alternative since it is cross platform
I use private trackers for downloading content I want to keep local backups of but I also subscribe to a Plex share, hard to beat their on demand content library!
And now they are easily one of the worst predatory tech companies. Go figure.
Apollo refugee here. Wefwef and Lemmy are very nice :)
Remote doesn’t pay the same if you’re not in a HCOL area. Most jobs scale based on location
