Yes. I guess my perspective is coming from someone who has a) been on Reddit for years and b) on Lemmy for a while. I felt the pain when my needy communities went dark and I lost ability to troubleshoot to consult and to bond. Reddit and now Lemmy are not for pics of cats for me. So I get the value I get from it.

Probably a smaller server. I need to do some more research. Lemmy.world one of the highlighted big servers when I joined during one of the waves from Reddit. I am sure there are plenty better smaller /mid-size server LD, I could join instead.

I may be a minority. But I would gladly join a server that is paid and I get stability, but also a better stronger fight against the inevitable onslaught of shit - in return.
