Neat, thanks! Makes me even more grateful that I decided to switch.

Is GrapheneOS affected?
Even if they do remove them from the official stores, you can always go straight to the source and sideload it.
True, that’s part of the reason I switched to Gentoo
That depends for me. Is it open source? If so, check the source code, you can see for yourself whether that third party is doing anything shady? Anything closed source like WhatsApp, however, and I 100% agree with you.
Maybe it would be a good idea to collaborate with neighbours or friends or such, economies of scale and whatnot.
Ah, a fellow Gentoo user, I see.
may you always be well
In a sense, I kind of half-agree with you. I think spamming anti-Google propaganda should be done, but in a more mainstream platform instead of something like Lemmy where almost everyone already agrees and likely have taken appropriate measures.
Chrome and Google hatred is 100% deserved and OOP should carry on with their crusade.
Priorities.
You can get yourself sandboxed Google Play Services and everything should work fine. Personally, I have a separate profile for apps that need it.
I don’t doubt that at least the EU certainly would, but will they be fast enough to prevent irreversible damage?
I welcome everyone except corporations really
Why is it blasphemy? I’ve never used either Twitter or Mastodon either.
Compiling by myself is always worth it for the -telemetry
imo
cars? you mean satan’s shithole wagon?
That’s only iOS, and I’ve heard that EU’s trying to put an end to that. Third party apps works fine with macOS; never once have I even touched the app store, only Homebrew. I do agree that the lack of control and freedom you have is egregious, especially for such an expensive device, there really should be an toggle to turn all of that restriction off for those who knows what they’re doing. I’m also pessimistic about the future of macOS given the absolute bullshit Apple’s been pulling with iOS. I can only hope Asahi Linux gets feature parity with macOS by the time they do the same with macOS, else I’ll have to sell my M1 MacBook and get something else, and that’s a shame because despite less-than-ideal OS, the hardware is amazing.
Are adblockers even illegal? I didn’t think it was.
