  • I had a team of contractors working on some code. They had learnt in their previous jobs to document everything in the work wiki (aside from the design documents which have their own repository)

And it was good they did, since the project was put on hold due to too much mismatch between backend and front, and all the contractors were fired (a day before Xmas) leaving the useless doco as the best reference for whoever needs to resurrect our code

  • All diets do ensure you eat no more than you need. Some of us can’t just eat less, and need to switch to the two macro nutrients that we have limits on. You can overeat protein, but it’s hard and doesn’t taste good after you’ve had enough, and it will be balanced by your eating less the next day. You simply can’t eat more fat than you need, it will make you sick if you overeat by a lot, but overeat fat at all and you will excrete the excess

There is no limit but the size of your stomach and the hours in the day for carbohydrates

So it’s easy to do no more calories than you need on low carb

  • I have tried about every diet and that one didn’t work at all for me. After all the common ones I did Atkins for a few months to great success, but couldn’t keep it up. Then the internet renamed Atkins induction to keto and I tried that for about six months a few times and always failed and put on all I lost.

Then from low carb I found zerocarb and that was the first easy diet. Now zerocarb is called carnivore and I’m still on it, slowly becoming thinner

  • The best performing diet that has published research demonstrating its success is low carbohydrate also known as keto.

That means avoiding high sugar and high starch foods like bread, pasta, potato, fruit, juices, processed food

The best description I have seen is nothing made of wheat, rice, grain, no vegetables that grow underground, no pumpkin, no fruit, as much meat, seafood, fat as you like.

The current health advice is to avoid canola and vegetable oils as they do specific metabolic damage. The safe plant based fats are coconut and avocado. All animal fats are safe.

The odd thing about this diet is you can eat fat and get thin, but it makes sense in that it trains your body to burn fat, which is what you want!

Dr Ken Berry on YouTube has good advice about starting such a diet.
