Your own, personal one!
It’s definitely a “red line”, but I work in a field that requires me to think about things long-term. To me, the genocide shit is bad and I am 100% behind Bibi and his administration being tried and hung for their atrocities. However, I also know it can get a whole lot worse for Palestinians, and the world was a whole, if anyone but a Democrat wins in November.
Sure, we keep sliding to the right. But at least with Harris in office, we stand a chance of reversing a further slide. Without, we are sure to continue the slide at an even faster rate.
Look past the shortsightedness of those that seek to distract you and try to see the bigger picture. We can’t do anything about the shit going on now if we don’t have a future.
It amazed people when it first launched and capitalists took that to mean replace all their jobs with AI. Where we wanted AI to make shit jobs easier, they used it to replace whole swaths of talent across the industry’s. Recent movies read like they were written almost entirely by AI. Like when Cartman was a robot and kept giving out terrible movie ideas.
Any other year, with any other opposition candidate, I’d be right there calling for a cease fire if they want my vote. Please say it with me…
THIS IS NOT THE YEAR FOR A FUCKING PROTEST VOTE!!
Vote blue, hold the administration accountable, and vote again in 2 and 4 years. Protest vote and then bitch about the suffering for the rest of your life, however short it becomes under a second tRump admin.
I found the guy!
Why do you think everything sucks right now? The simulations ran out of resources long ago so no new ideas are created, just rehashing of already established ones. It’s why we have AI, but it can’t generate anything new or useful. It’s why we’re about to have a restart of World War 2 and The Cold War. It’s why movies that come out already are getting remade, but slightly worse than the original story.
People like to think that’s because capitalism only caters to the safe bets. But we know better! It’s really just that the old Apple 2e that’s running the simulation(s) is low on resources!!
Now, where did I leave all that red string, pictures of Bigfoot and the Loc Ness monster, and thumbtacks?
I see a lot of the nay sayers as a vocal minority. They yell the loudest, but only because the media gives them a platform to generate clicks. Just like how Republicans believe everyone in the nation, who doesn’t worship satan, is pro-birth. Kansas, a deep red rural state proved otherwise with a vote to add abortion rights into their constitution a couple years ago, something their conservative supreme court just upheld.
Honestly, the recent ruling on the Kansas ballot initiative, which quite frankly surprised me to begin with, shows that in some places judges still do their job even when their personal beliefs may differ from the law they are entrusted with interpreting. Kansas voters, you showed us the way and stood out against the backdrop of “conservative status quo.” Kansas showed, in the last two years, that when given a chance, even deep red states see the writing on the wall.
I have a feeling the outcome of this election is going to be a “silent storm” event and wake-up call to the GOP that they are out of touch with what the people really want. They’ve drank the loud-mouth’s Kool-aid for far too long and won’t believe it when it happens.
Think of it like the silent majority (maybe 80% of nationwide voters) is the massive tornado that took out the drive-in theater in the movie, Twister. In the movie, no one saw it until a random lightning strike shed light on the sheer girth of the monster bearing down on them. The GOP is the drive-in. The night of the election will be their lightning flash. We, the voters, will be the tornado.
Thanks for setting me straight. I’ll edit my post to reflect that.
Edit: see comment from @Zipitydew@sh.itjust.works below this.
Throughout history, America has chosen to ignore warnings of impending attacks. Australia notified the US about the Japanese fleet movement and, if I remember, even predicted the target was Hawaii. They did nothing to stop that attack in order up get the US into the war to help Europe when isolationism in the population was making the idea of getting into the war unpalatable.
Ahh the early 2000s. What a time to be a teenager with new tech, a dialup network, and bootleg videos that occasionally contained someone’s browser or a floating mouse or a separate video that briefly starts playing over the screen-capped video!
Back when the Internet was new and not a dying corpse, drained of all it’s essence by monied interests!
So…we police the world the same way the “police” police Americans, with qualified immunity and military equipment? All the attacks on black and brown people abroad make a lot more sense when you take that “world police” and scale it down to domestic policing of Americans with similar skin color.
May your bot eat all the ass!
Is it under the Los Compadres Taco Truck?
And someone who’s part of a cult, or a significant other who is abused, will try to recruit people to their cause or downplay the violence or dig in deeper with their abusers.
Don’t get me wrong, those who perpetuate the hate on the conservative side are rat bastards who have no place in society. However, those on the consumption end have been programmed to think this way. Deprogramming takes a lot of time and requires the cult member to want to learn more and get out. However, forcefully removing a cult member will usually just push them back to the cult harder.
Either these Republican rubes die or start investigating other sources of info. Either way, we have a long fight ahead of us, and that’s only if we can cut off the head of the snake and stop the cult at the top.
I hope you’re right. I grew up learning about the Cold War. Didn’t think I’d have to experience it, but these fuckers refuse to leave power unless they die, and even then the survivors just Weekend at Bernie’s the corpse like Feinstein.
I don’t know for sure but if it started to suck after 1980, it was Reagan’s fault.
I know. That’s why I didn’t specify any specific deity and left it lower-case. They’re all the same never-ending grift.
Man, fuck international law, it goes against the religious beliefs held by many committing these atrocities. I’m not religious at all, but if your god is happy you bombed a fucking playground of children, then fuck your god.
Side note, I agree with you and this was not directed negatively to the previously reply. “Your” was used generally, not specifically. I hate this world sometimes, is all.
Don’t threaten me with a good time!
