Originally, it was being a child and not having any money of my own, and my mom getting out her wallet to enter card information on a website she had no previous knowledge of, for something she would never use personally, was a whole… thing that I can probably count on my hands the number of times it actually happened. Now, I just don’t think any company that would take my money in exchange for, generally temporary, access to media/software really deserves or needs my money all that much, and especially not more than I do. I also strongly resent that there is not a public and legal domain for things that are older than like 5 or 10 years and not actively being worked on.

Well they actually don’t write that realistically, these are copy and paste bots that are just trying to farm karma so they can later sell the account (which I’ve heard is a thing apparently?). You can see the left is all original accounts by the uniqueness of their usernames and the copied posts on the right are all reddit generated names.

Yeah reddit has a name generator that you can choose from when you create an account and that’s the format it uses. Those names are almost exclusively bots and throwaway/anon accounts

I mean it’s an honest title and chubbyemu even goes to the extent to explain the medical reasons as to how it happened why the average person doesn’t need to worry. When that’s not the case, his videos are cautionary tales meant to inform the public of the medical consequences of behavior they might not otherwise think all the way through. I honestly one of the few cases that gets a legit pass, and it should be standard for click bait like this to be accompanied by the disclaimers and medical background he includes in his videos.

Yeah it’s definitely drifted a bit since Fahrenheit was first conceived what with climate change and all. That doesn’t mean the scale is wrong, it means the moderate climates are slowly moving elsewhere.

It’s also useful that a moderate climate on average won’t go much higher than 100 in the summer, or lower than 0 in the winter. So you know if it does then either that day is an outlier, or you don’t live in a moderate climate. So it makes that information just a bit more intuitive. Speaking as a Michigander at least, that’s what those numbers mean to me.
