As far as I can tell, .world is great for the reddit emigres. There have been disagreements amd drama (as is tradition with online communities especially federated ones) but the instance is doing fine it seems.

I don’t know about this API blackout. I am talking about something else entirely. When Reddit migration was at its peak, registrations on this instance (lemmy.ml). The reason given was that the devs did not want to overwhelm themselves with the abruptly increased administrative and moderation responsibilities. At that time, Lemmy (the software) was facing significant performance issues as well, owing to the fact that that many users had not used Lemmy concurrently before that.

On the other hand, I tried to find the announcement post for this. (I remember one existing.) But I couldn’t. Have I hallicinated an elaborate scenario? I am not sure. Will try to look again.

Running Switch games through emulators (primarily Yuzu since it is much more popular). Recently it had become almost exclusively about emulating Tears of the Kingdom.

On Android, it’s a bit complicated but you if you are experienced you can use termux and yt-dlp.

You can use yt-dlp from a desktop too.

For youtube on android you can use newpipe. It allows streaming as well as downloading.

Not saying that Russia is a bastion of tolerance but the problem with this comprison is that while the linked article only lists a handful of cases of Nazism, Ukraine on the other hand has memorials for Nazis and have large paramilitary forces that openly display Nazi insignia and they are provided training by Canada at least. Not sure which other western countries have helped them but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more. One of the offical accounts related to Ukrainian military tweeted about trearing bullets with lard for use against Muslim “orcs”.

You could say that Russia being a capitalist country is maybe not idealogically opposed to fascism but use the history of the Great Patriotic War for nationalistic purposes. I am not sure how true that is because I don’t know much about Russia. But equating Ukraine which glorifies Nazis and had neo-Nazis brought to power in the 2014 coup seems like a false equivalence to me.
