Yeah this is what a lot of people have been saying for a while. It is a meaningful difference.

I liked this one. Zapp always gives me a laugh. So far this and the Christmas ones have been my favourites, the rest being meh to ok.
But it wasn’t so often the central theme of the episode. We’ve had 4 out of 5 stories based purely around current events.
It had some pretty funny moments, and the universe being trapped in an ever expanding warehouse is pretty Futurama, but I was pretty disheartened when I saw the name of the episode and when I saw it was just about Amazon. I hope not all of them are current event things.
The issue is the revolution is not an instant snap to full communism. There will need to be structures in place to prevent the slipping back into capitalism, and the undermining of the new proletarian state by internal and external forces. This means things like police, military, and government, but fundamentally different as the structure of the society they serve will not be designed to protect the wealthy. The transition from revolution to full stateless, classless, moneyless communism will take an unknown amount of time.
I would rather it have ended on a high note as it did before the reboot if all the episodes are going to be kind of meh. New episodes for the sake of new episodes don’t do it for me. I’m hoping it picks up though
This reads to me more like the Polish PM is trying to get ahead of announcing they will not take in any more refugees.
Hmm that’s not promising news for me. I’ve found Futurama works best when it’s handling things not directly related to current events. I’ve been concerned about this season in general since I heard about it, more so after seeing the trailer, and even more so now.
Considering this user made an account on lemmy.ml to post this, and the community in world was made by the same user with a world account, maybe they don’t understand the federation aspect correctly. It seems to happen a lot, and it’s frustrating because it leads to one huge instance in lemmy.world.
I’ve found ordering by new comments is a good balance. It means generally newer stuff gets put at the top of my feed, but posts with a lot of recurring talk do as well.
At least this take is honest about the disregard for human lives as long as it furthers the interests of the US.
