My understanding is they’d need Israeli cooperation to ensure the area Gaza-side would be safe from bombardment.

It can also depend on the time of day if browsing All or which communities you’re in. Lemmy does have a lot of folks who were banned from various subreddits, but they’re a minority.

It’s more the idea of FB not generating ad revenue of their news content and thus not having to compensate them (rather than about adding cost burdens to the outlets). No specific taxes involved though. It’s similar to the Australian model.
There’s no tax requirement. They’re required to come to an agreement with the news outlets to compensate them.
I do wonder if even 5 years is enough if there’s a pattern.
I’m thinking more in terms of the terminology used rather than the methodology.
I find the term ‘fertility’ instead of ‘birth rate’ weird. Plenty of people are capable of having children but are choosing not to for a variety of reasons.
It’s not FOSS but it’s currently free and without ads.
