You’d think the Feds would step in to fix that sort of Establishment Clause violation, no matter how powerful the cultists are at the NYC (or Clearwater, or Salt Lake City, or…) local government level, but I guess not.
LOL, no they are not! If there’s one thing I know about Evangalion, it’s that.
Russia’s high tech side of their military industrial complex is incredibly weak compared to the old USSR days
They’ve been screwed since like the '60s because of the gap in microprocessor tech.
This, but not ironically. (Please stop subsidizing gasoline!)
Wait, WTF does “removed from the statute block” mean? Did they pass a new law repealing the old one, or did the new government just say “nah” and cross it out without a legislative vote?
Nah, just make the alternatives cheaper
Or make the animal stuff more expensive; same difference.
Criminalizing homelessness is basically Black Codes 2.0
Whenever I do, someone will point out that houses today are, on average, bigger.
Houses are bigger because lots are bigger, so developers have to build bigger houses on them in order for the improvement value to be high enough to turn a profit.
Lots are bigger because the zoning code was designed to make them too expensive for minorities to afford, once the Fair Housing Act came through and de-jure segregation and restrictive deed restrictions were outlawed.
In other words, Not only is the “houses today are bigger” not really the rebuttal people saying it think it is, they’re also defending institutional racism.
Sigh… but when you try to go through on a bicycle, everybody loses their minds. 😡
When they decide to tax the rest of us they just do it. When they decide to tax billionaires, they hem and haw forever over feasibility studies first.
Hmm, good point!
As far as I can tell, this is about an Israeli government propaganda effort spending Israeli taxpayers’ shekels against Americans. While it’s true that your comment could be validly copy-pasted to threads about all sorts of things that the US government has done, this thread isn’t about one of those situations.
Edit: sunzu makes a good point.
So, they’re gonna tax synagogues too, right?
First of all, this is great and deserves its own thread.
Second, there’s a fatal flaw: authoritarians and capitalists (same difference) are predisposed in favor of fascism, and that’s why the behavior of fuckwads like Trump keeps getting free passes and attention. When leftists try the same thing, they get ignored, censored, COINTELPRO’d, or even just straight-up murdered.
In other words, it’s a good strategy and should work, all things being equal, but all things are not equal and that makes it a high-body-count strategy (even if there’s no better one available).
Turning things up to 11 just gets you discredited as “radicals” in the media.
Radicals need to exist in order to make the less-radical activists look reasonable by comparison. Otherwise they just get painted as radical no matter how milquetoast their protest is, and the Overton window moves away from their cause.
Dog-sized dinosaurs are one of the most popular animals on the planet right now, so much so that they’re the default flavor “everything tastes like.”
Heck, if HA knew for certain it was a workday, it could boot the laptop for me…hmmm. Maybe something to think about for the future.
I’ve been meaning to look into how to integrate HA with a NextCloud CalDAV server or something, because I have a lot of ideas for automations that would be best triggered by calendar events (e.g. ringing an alarm [get ready time] + [travel time] before [appointment]).
If I see something packaged like this, I expect it to be really fruity, not just vodka and lime.
