I have a Scarlett solo, guess that might be a DAC. Little box for sound connections.
I bought a mid range Sennheiser and dedicated amp for my PC because the one on my motherboard was buzzing. My favorite part about it is: no batteries to die on me, the open back design is more comfortable and the amp has a convenient volume knob. The sound quality is fine? It’s not shitty which is just about the only thing I can tell.
If I’m honest, I don’t think many will care enough to do anything.
My personal theory is that there’s a biological split in our species. Like how some people taste soap when they eat cilantro and others don’t. I think some of us are wired to need and want a leader and others do not. The evolution of not needing a leader has not fully propagated to the whole species yet.
Would sky trains be as reliable? I assume subways are more reliable partially due to not being exposed to the elements.
This stuff always feels like rich people scamming other rich people. Both sides know reddit isn’t worth nearly as much as they claim, but they play this song and dance with it and the one who actually ends up with the company at the end (usually) loses out while everyone else manages to make billions.
I run a Plex server for my immediate family. I definitely use it the least.
Had a similar issue with a dishwasher. Unhooked it without asking us, refused to reinstall it. Bonus is that for whatever reason we apparently have a complicated dishwasher installation (it’s not next to a sink like they normally are). $300 to redo it.
New rule, billionaires must maintain a horde of gold and jewels worth at least 100 million at all times. If it gets stolen they have to make a new one. Anyone can try to steal it, but the billionaires can set lethal traps.
Why is Firefox a ‘platform’? I’m assuming chromium is for chromeOS devices, but I don’t know of any device that just runs Firefox.
Sorry I’m out of touch with this these days, but does the esrb even matter anymore? At least on PC a lot of games aren’t even rated. Or if they are, it’s barely a factor. And lots of kids just play mobile games, which also aren’t rated by the ESRB either.
When literally every car manufacturer does it and does it on something that is technically a luxury, but most people have already got used to (like heated seats or apple carplay). The public has long revealed that they have basically no immunity towards these sorts of high level collusion tactics. And the government agencies meant to stop it seem to think it only counts if all the car manufacturers met in some sort of ‘let’s be evil’ conference to plan it out, instead of, you know, just copying off what everyone else is doing.
The fact that I’m forced to buy a car just to participate in modern life, but then not really own that car is infuriating. I’d rather just have functioning public transit, not this abomination of capitalism that electric cars seem to herald for us.
Pretty sure no matter how horrific, it’s still a drawing and therefore not illegal in most Western countries at least
Thanks! I’ll give it a shot
Super excited for this. One of my adult teeth just never grew in. I tried to get an implant, but the lack of tooth also resulted in too little bone there to support the implant. I’m hopeful this would eventually allow me to have a real tooth there instead of my very fragile bridge.
Do a ridiculous proportion of people still buy gas-guzzling SUVs and plastic water bottles and use plastic bags at the grocery store unnecessarily? Yes
It’s not that this doesn’t matter, it does. But almost every time it’s mentioned is alongside industrial climate impacts as if they were at all in a similar scale.
They aren’t even close. People doing the ‘well actually’ thing for individual climate impacts are inadvertently being patsies for corporations to continue to deflect scrutiny away from the absolutely ridiculous levels of climate impacts they have. And while consumers are trying to move to metal straws, corporations have basically not even started trying to address low hanging fruit ways to mitigate climate change, let alone anything slightly tricky.
I’ve seen the mods? I tend to run with at least 150 of them.
You’re expected to go to prison where they can legally use you for slave labor
