  • I agree with you but technically speaking Earth from Star Trek went through very similar growing pains before finding their utopia.

“It’s not that they don’t care. It’s that they’ve given up.” This was how Commanding Officer Benjamin Sisko, played by Avery Brooks, described early 21st-century Americans in an episode from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. When it aired in 1995, “Past Tense” spoke to contemporary concerns about homelessness by telling a story set in 2024—the near future for viewers, but the distant past for characters. In the two-part episode, Sisko and two of his companions from the U.S.S. Defiant find themselves stranded in San Francisco, where they’re reminded that the federal government had once set up a series of so-called “Sanctuary Districts” in a nationwide effort to seal off homeless Americans from the general population. Stuck in 2024, Sisko, who is black—along with his North African crewmate Dr. Julian Bashir and the fair-skinned operations officer Jadzia Dax—must contend with unfamiliar racism, classism, violence, and Americans’ apparent apathy toward human suffering.

  • It is interesting to me especially since as a kid I was fascinated with things like ancient aliens lol. I knew it was bullshit of course but it was fun and engaging.

A part of me wishes it were true, another part tells me it’s a distraction (the only names that I see supporting it are people like Rubio and other fascist conservatives), and the last part of me hopes it’s all bull shit because I agree with Mr. Hawking:

“If you look at history, contact between humans and less intelligent organisms have often been disastrous from their point of view, and encounters between civilizations with advanced versus primitive technologies have gone badly for the less advanced,” Hawking said at the time, noting that any superior forms of life “may not see us as any more valuable than we see bacteria.”

What an absurd sweeping generalization of incredibly complex events and context.

Just say you’re another bootlicker and get on with your life. Please oh PLEASE don’t hurt those that exclusively exist to make our lives worse keep us poor dumb and sick!!!

You sayin the French were fools? Fuck off with your neat little bow on top of a simple little “just threaten them and they will play nice”, life isn’t that simple, that’s not how this works, the civil war and what we have now is incomparable. These billionaires are international and actually play as a united team against us poors.

But yeah just a drop of blood and Bezos gives up his fortune and union breaking and insane net worth and lives a subservient life after that. Yeah that sounds realistic

  • Absolutely not. Especially with said small mags, op said 5 but for Cali I believe it’s 10?

Either way that’s a small fucking mag even for a round like 5.56 (standard us rifle round). You could easily stuff 4-5 in your two pants pockets.

Sticking with the 5.56 example, push the mag in, hit the bolt release to load the first round, pull the trigger and the next is auto loaded. Pull the trigger for each bullet and when there are no more the bolt will stay locked back. You push the mag release button, mag falls out, then you just slide a new mag in. Hit the bolt catch release and it will load the next round.

It’s easy as fuck, no the goal isn’t to reload once a day. If anything the goal would be to hit the target with as few bullets possible x the person you replied to was just being facetious.

here is an excellent example animation that covers the entire sequence from load to fire. Most of it is irrelevant but if you actually care you can jump around using the chapters

The only laborious thing about reloading is putting each round in one by one. The video shows a 30 round mag so think of a mag 1/3rd of that for this post context. With stripper clips or a speed reloaded it’s easy and quick af. Realistically you’d go out with preloaded mags instead of a box of bullets you load on the fly. Always a good idea to take extra cartridges tho.
