There’s a phrase you might give useful/insightful.
“Trust, but verify”
I use auto pay extensively so that if I forget (ADHD, yay) it still gets paid. But I do (try to) check every month that all the auto pay stuff did trigger properly.
I have the same issue with Keepass2Android. I think the issue is with Android itself rather than the password app.
I just learned that Max streams the MotoGP races live. Thankfully we have Max as part of our can phone plan.
Biggest problem I see is its inability to embed images and other multimedia.
That’s one of its best features as far as I’m concerned, and one of the reasons I still use it every day.
Not only could it do full motion video, but it could, on a 200Mhz Pentium MMX CPU, rotate an OpenGL cube on any axis with a different video running on all six sides, and do so smoothly and without any lag or video stuttering. It was incredible what they were able to do back then. Hell I’m not entirely convinced Windows could pull that off now!
Unless they get to the point of doing full strip and cavity searches, there’s no way to prevent someone from bringing in a Ziploc baggie full of soup.
I still have a (pirated) copy of this. I loved this utility back in the day. Except when it showed me that my 40MB MFM hard drive was about the same speed as a parallel port Zip drive.
Donuts are great. Krispie Kreme are hot garbage though.
Well, like it or not, that’s the system we have right now, and so long as it is, by the time the main election comes around, the only options are a) violent overthrow, b) abstain from voting, or c) vote for the least bad option presented.
I don’t think we’re quite to the point yet where violent overthrow is necessary or justified.
Abstaining just means you accept whatever the outcome is, and thus have no leg to stand on when you don’t like the outcome.
In my mind that leaves option c as the only valid option, with the added requirement of working in between elections towards pushing for changes in the voting system.
I don’t pretend to be a fan of Biden. But despite his shortcomings, he’s still a damn sight better than Trump or RFK Jr. And nobody else running has a snowball’s chance in hell, and most of them are crackpots anyway. So until such a time as we have better options, I will continue to vote for the least bad option.
I’m on this very project right now.
There’s a long history of desperate people taking actions that they KNOW will result in their own death/destruction. What makes you think the powers that be in a rapidly failing Russia would never, ever take that chance?
War is indeed hell, my friend.
I prefer Hawkeye’s take: War is war and hell is hell…
Funny, both the Cambridge and Dictionary.com (among others) seem to think it is.
I’ve paid for Relay Pro multiple times over the years, and was happy to do so. And if this subscription had been implemented as just a way to support Relay, I’d have subscribed in a heartbeat, because it’s a fantastic app and worth every penny.
But due to all the Reddit API (and other) bullshit behind it, I just can’t do it. After many, many years of happy usage, I uninstalled Relay Pro yesterday when I got the update.
As far as I’m concerned, Reddit is now only a “read-only” archive that I’ll read if a search returns old information I need, and I’ll read just the post/comment I need from an ad-blocking browser then move on elsewhere (ie. lemmy) when I want to participate in conversations.
I know it’s highly unlikely, but if dbrady ever releases a Relay for Lemmy app, I’ll pay for it.
Seems like a lot of those people need to read Foundation.
Yes. Yes they did.
Yes, finally . But only after being available in FreeBSD for years.
11 years ago I switched to Reddit from Fark. Before that I switched to Fark from Slashdot (mid 5 digit user ID).
I haven’t quit Reddit completely, but I’ve drastically reduced my usage and will likely continue to reduce further as Lemmy and/or other options grow.
Basically the same as I did with previous sites I frequented. I occasionally check Fark and Slashdot, but I’m far from a frequent reader and rarely contribute any further.
It may take time, and obviously won’t be as fast as the death of Digg, but spez has likely effectively killed Reddit. It just doesn’t know it yet.
