The freedom we have now may not be here in the near future. Your political views, your opinions that you have voiced online could be used to oppress you then. Also, another simpler reason, I don’t want corporations to know my personal life just like how I don’t want my neighbor to know it either. It is called personal, not public.

It has been a hit or miss for me. I have signed up for two other instances just in case.

I still cut it off my diet. I didn’t drink it much to begin with, possible one or two cans a week, but I’m still getting rid of it.

That’s my only concern. I don’t mind my comments to be public. That’s what a public place is, unlike other social media platforms who claim to be but they’re not. It’s, like you mentioned, the upvote/downvote system that I’m worried about and will refrain from using. Because it is public, too, it feels like it lets people read your thoughts. So, I’ll refrain from using it until it’s fixed.

As an immigrant who comes from a shithole 3rd world country, most of those posts on those two subs made me cringe. There WERE some interesting ones, but majority was like “bruh, I would love to make you live in my country for a couple of months” 😂
