I learned most of this in psychology classes years ago. There is also a Wikipedia article on the topic. I’m not an expert at all, but I find this stuff fascinating.

Facial expressions are a powerful form of communication. Faces (especially eyes) are so important to communication in the human brain that we see faces in places (pareidolia).

There is also a theory that we evolved to have the whites of our eyes visible so others can see where you’re looking and react appropriately (especially in the case of danger).

Every single time anyone brings up Biden’s problems, the response is downvotes and “Doesn’t matter because Trump exists.” And I’m sure you’ve heard the mantra of “Vote blue no matter who!”

And the rich have the rest of us bickering amongst ourselves about Team Red vs. Team Blue, and social media exacerbated this. News flash, if any of them actually cared, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Team Red has their side blaming immigrants and liberals for everything, while Team Blue has their side convinced that everybody on Team Blue is infallible just because Team Red exists.

I did. I deleted my Reddit account on July 2. I was using Lemmy.world as my main since the middle of June, but lately I’ve been using this instance because of lemmy.world’s constant issues.

I refuse to use the official Reddit app, and while Narwhal is fine and all, it seems like any third-party app’s days are numbered, whether they pay up or not. And while spez said Old Reddit isn’t going anywhere, he also said he wasn’t going to copy Elon.

Try the official app. It’s awful.

I didn’t get it until I found the artists on Twitter. Unfortunately, they’re now scattering all over the place with Elon’s bullshit.

I have one artist friend on Mastodon, Arsbin@mastodon.art, but so far she’s the only one.

I never cared much for the political or celebrity bullshit on Twitter.

The other reason I quit using Google is because Google shows you what they think you want to see, rather than just what they found. I’m not really interested in buying an extension to make Google’s filter bubble usable.
