There could also be an elite group of the gayest people on earth. Or it could just be 2 gay lords.

In Idaho that’s already happening without the minimum wage hike. Our special needs aids are making less than they do working fast food.
We have an ally next door, Jordan.
We’d probably have more allies if we dropped support.
What we are doing is equivalent to us deciding to support North Korea and being shocked that all of a sudden we lose regional support from just about everyone.
Israel, especially with an ongoing genocide, is toxic to stability and alliances. It isolates more than it gives strategic advantage.
If you’re interested, here’s a pretty good podcast episode that sat down with Dr. Janale Schmidt, a history professor who ultimately got the Robert e Lee statue melted down.

What I find fascinating about the whole story is she did not start with the goal of melting down the statue. In fact, this whole controversy was kicked off because the city of Charlottesville wanted to move the statue to a less prominent park, rather than having it in the center of the city.
She talks about the journey of the statue and why ultimately they came to the conclusion that destruction was the right decision (including the fact that they observed these statues turning into racist shrines after the initial incident).
But hey, he called you an asshole and said you need a come to Jesus moment. So that makes him cool right?
I believe that we should take the statues and move them into museums dedicated to history. We can’t change what happened before we got here, but we can clean up leftover shit and make the future a better place to live.
Let me share 2 practical real reasons why that’s a bad idea.
there are a LOT of these statues and these things are HEAVY. A responsible museum won’t accept this stuff because there’s simply not the room for it.
The people that will accept it end up being the last people that should. Like stone mountain Park, which enshrines and worships these racist assholes.
The very real problem is by having and concentrating this “artwork”, you create meeting spaces for white supremacists. Because ask yourself, WHO is going to and wants to experience the confederacy memorials?

You can eventually trademark once you get big enough. As with all things law it’s a bit tricky. However, the default is that geographic locations aren’t trademarkable.
For further reading on when you can trademark.

It’s even neater. The name of towns/cites cannot be trademarked. The safest thing you can do when naming a project is naming it after a town so you don’t run into legal troubles in the future.
Exactly, I demand better of him and I will probably vote for him. I really wonder though how someone that’s a Muslim or Palestinian can stomach voting for him. His policies around Israel are pretty much identical to what Trump would do which is a big deal for a lot of people. He’s basically saying “Forget that I let Israel murder and starve to death your loved ones, I’ve been pretty good when it comes to monopolies right?!?”.
I’ll vote for him because he’s the better of two options, however, he has blood on his hands and that may just lose him a second term.
This is such a misleading headline, it’s propaganda. Biden Did not say “Immediate ceasefire, no excuses” Boy I wish he did. Instead he said “Boy I hope we have a cease fire. There’s no excuses for Israel keeping aid from going in”.
Ok, read what actually was said then come back.
The headline is misleading. Biden simply said “I hope a ceasefire happens one day”. Which is a FAR cry from “demanding a ceasefire now”. He isn’t doing enough because he hasn’t been saying things like “We are planning on withdrawing aid from Israel if they keep up this offensive”. Instead it’s “Well golly gee I hope Hamas returns all the hostages for a 2 week ceasefire and no troop withdrawals by Israel.”
But hey, at least he’s decided that he can say the word “ceasefire” Up until maybe a couple of weeks ago that was a forbidden word by the administration.
Look at all these human shields… shielding the food and medical aid. Guess we better mow them down.
to people like you that can’t see past the hollow optics.
Umm, ok, Like I agree with you that charities in general tend to be a bad way to solve public problems. But I’m also pointing out that charities rich people tend to contribute to are often even worse than ineffective for addressing public needs.
It’s, frankly, more than most billionaires and 100 millionaires do.
Most billionaires are setting up fake charities as tax shelters so they can publicize “Elon musk gave money to the Elon musk charity for fueling billionaire private jets foundation”.
You can pretty much pick a billionaire and find that billionaire’s charity that does dog shit.
Except for Dolly Parton who apparently didn’t get the memo that she’s supposed to be scamming :D
The media is starting to turn on Israel. It took them long enough and there’s a lot of damage that’s been done (like firing and sidelining all muslim commentators)
The lightest lightest pressure possible, basically a “maybe you guys should chill out a bit” has been said. Not cease fire, not “we’ll withdraw aid” but rather “this seems a bit much”.
Slowly, most media outlets are FINALLY getting to the point where “hey, maybe the fact that Israel just leveled 70% of Gaza, all the hospitals, and they’ve shut down aid, food, water, and power, while telling the residents to move up Egypt is a bad thing”
It’s insane it’s taken this long for Biden to put up even a modicum of pressure on Israel to slow down.
On the ballot “Putin” or “Frontline”.
The engine has hundreds of parts but really only a couple of them are moving. That’s the beauty of electric motors.
