Seems dead now. ☹️

And the fact that it’s seamless across both cpu and gpu is exciting. Most devs can probably hack out a half decent multi threaded cpu implementation. But gpu is far more complicated. Having one solution that works on both is very intriguing to me.
reduce compilation times
They mention nothing about compile times. This is about allowing the compiler to automagically run your code in multiple threads on CPU and GPU.
It’s an interesting idea. I like the CPU/GPU abstraction but it’s going to have some learning curve to write code for it. I’m not in the niche it’s aimed at though so I can’t comment to it’s usefulness.
Maybe. That’s up to the individual. Surgery is also a pretty big deal and comes with risks.
“Why don’t they just cure cancer!”
🙄
Are you saying insulin has not served the greater good? This whole “treatments are a conspiracy to enrich corporate profits” BS is crazy. That it can happen, and sometimes does happen, does not mean it always happens or never happens.
The world is complicated. Simplified “pharma bad” arguments are pure fantasy.
And Harry Potter trips over a magic macguffin in the street that let’s people named “Harry” teleport to the exact location of space probes. And also breathe in space for some reason.
Because “knowledge” isn’t the problem. You’re addressing the wrong issue and wasting your resources on the wrong problem.
Are you from the past?
At some point you’ve done what you can. People are stupid, they will do stupid things.
Woodworkers use the “metric system” all the time it seems. “Thousandths of an inch” is a common unit.

I have only one question. Can women worship with men and be imams in their mosque?
If no, then you don’t have equality and it is wrong.
PR? The story right above this one in my feed is about a woman getting Spanish citizenship because she’s afraid of going home after not wearing a hijab.
There is some racism. And there is some well deserved criticism as well.
Joplin has been my note-taking app of choice. Free (OSS); no accounts needed; simple; local; synchronizes through my Nextcloud instance to Linux, Windows and Android; markdown-based, etc. It’s been a good workflow for me and makes taking and searching through notes quick and pretty painless.
I document my setup, backup and restoration procedures (done rarely enough that it’s good to have it written down), etc. with it.
And millions of women have it forced upon them under threat of imprisonment or death. One of whom was beaten to death in the street quite recently. Context matters.
“Oh you got me - if she were a man I’d think it’s okay” - is that how my reply went in your head?
All else being equal - yes of course.
If a man wore a Klan or Nazi uniform I would take issue with it as well. Women can do thing that are anti-feminist. Phyllis Schlafly spoke out against ‘marital rape’ ffs.
“Being a woman” does not isolate you from criticism. Nor should it be the source of criticism. Supporting a religion that even in moderate mosques doesn’t allow men and women to worship together and wearing an article of clothing that is literally forced on women in some regions seems antithetical to the belief that women should have equality with men.
Let me say it slowly.
She has the bloody fucking right to wear a hijab if she wants to. And it is incompatible with feminism.
Both statements can be true. And both statements are true. There are women being arrested right now for not wearing the hijab. Women are being killed for not wearing a hijab. I know those are extreme cases and “not all Muslims” but they’re not RARE cases and they are state supported.
Knowing that - you think wearing a hijab is perfectly aligned with feminist ideology of equality of the sexes?
Which is EXACTLY MY POINT. It was her choice to wear a hijab - and it was a bad choice. Fuckin’ hell man.
I’ve found good work with both. Java has been “dying” for decades according to people who have an irrational dislike for the language. I’m yet to see any evidence for it. The ecosystem of libraries there is huge and well maintained.
Frankly I’d learn both as well as Python and maybe rust and go. Once you become proficient in any language it’s easier to learn others. So start with Java if that calls to you but branch out as well.
