Do check seaweedfs too! Haven’t tried it (yet) but their ‘erasure coding’ reads as super sophisticated to me ;)
I wonder how it compares to beegfs

Idk, like… Which countries have gods or masters?
Oh! I should get back to it… Togrther with the winamp skins I had downloaded from internet archive.
Plus projectM from Steam, and Spotube… I could stop using the monthly subscription for (*1) an ugly UI that barely handles drag-and-drop and is a mess to make my playlists with.
(*1) tbh, the recommendation engine got me hooked at first, but my interest has been fading away.
Mullvad is trustworthy (imho, and because of audits).
Anyway, you can have both, and run purple i2p with blackjack and torrents!
The closest would be a folder, synchronized between phone and computer (e.g. using syncthing) where you save the torrent files. Then the client scans and automatically adds torrents from there. It will remove such files, so while at it, you should also configure to save completed torrent files somewhere. When possible, torrent files are a better option (they bring metadata, required if you ever wanted to re-share some content).
They were cutting files in smaller parts and spreading over multiple locations and countries. At least that was the claim in the early days, so anything illegal would require lawyers on many jurisdictions sending the same letter (e.g. DMCA takedown)
Ironically, it did work but now that Durov is in jail channel admins would do good to take precautions.
It’s okay to be proud of your actions but that’s different to robbing the value of other people effort.
You might be Messi and the other guy is Di Maria. The greatest football team of all time needed both :)
P.s. yeah, the example is not crystal clear but it sounded funny to me, so…
But terrible handling of metadata. Which is the case for all chat apps AFAIK. Like, even with OMEMO, who talks with whom, and when, can be exposed. Which sometimes is enough to get legal issues (e.g. Ola Bini’s case)
The “other criminal activity” probably includes many horrible things. Not just a teen selling shrooms. So, I am not so sure that’s really what we want.
OpenCamera is good, but could do better. But I’d say video editing is the biggest void.
Also, gesture typing keyboards are an empty niche of foss alternatives. HelioBoard requires loading some proprietary blob unfortunately.
I guess the most heavy machine learning use cases are not filled in.
Just yesterday I deployed it locally, and was about to migrate from my keepasDX (+syncthing)…
Women are you back to KDE the same as GMO or a VPS with special software or (…)
Oh, I didn’t remember. Time to report my own post… Lol. Let’s see if mods want to lock this thread then they can do it.
It’s been always the same. Backend, server logic, database… dynamic content; on one hand. JavaScript runs on the browser for almost anything, sometimes for dynamic content. But it’s not tied. You could have an in-browser button with a counter for the numbers of times it was pressed (that’s actually an entry-level programmer exercise) and that’s a static site. If you saved the counter value to the server (e.g. database) then it’s not static anymore.
A weather app with no control of city, plus currency rate and TLD. I don’t see any value in this. But a nice design, sure.
tarnkappe.info in german is great. just translate it automagically.
It’s one of the most common biases for historians: anachronicity, it’s about looking to people in the past with the goggles from the present (current biases, and/ or values). Furthemore, priests copying books by hand was extremely common before the invention of the printing press.
I wonder if this case is special for its time (the first copyist?) or book (was it protected by any hierarchy?)… Other than that, I agree and fail to see a salient connection to “our” piracy.
I’d rather keep the origins on musical pieces, probably classical music. Which is difficult to get even to this days (too niche, some popular pieces have scanned PDFs tho)
I think thats the case for most artists and their art… Specially in the music industry
One could also think that whoever packaged this was hurried while filling a form, and wanted to provide credit where it was due. So, maybe they were on the best of their intents… We don’t know.
If I were to use this, I would check other apps from same uploader. Or better, see what permissions are being asked…
In any case, trusting blindly github contributors on teamnewpipe organization is not extremely different.
Trust and credibility are volatile and freely given. It’s youtube, not my bank account ;p
