  • In Russian? There are like five basic words you make your obscene lexics from (like ‘fuck’ in English), and хуй (khooy) is one of them, meaning dick, and хуйня (khooy-nya) is a thing related to a dick in a bad way, like a borked project or a complicated situation, while not having a direct translation on it’s own. Something like, ehm, a dick-thing? as it’s a noun, just like хуета (khu-e-tah), meaning the same. There are also an adverb хуёво (khoo-yovo) meaning something isn’t going great, and забил хуй (zah-beel khooy) when you discarded your dick in that situation and don’t give a fuck about what’s going on.

Many of them you can hear on the recordings from the ongoing war.

I’m not sure I’ve understood you correctly, so you can specify what you want to know.

  • ex-USSR early rusophonic internet had a lot of original and transliterated ones but I rarely see them nowadays, and most are community-specific. Some didn’t carry over, some replaced by chat stickers, and the writing\reading of longer posts itself seems like a niche now when there are audio and video messages at hand. Add there that the web space I talk about is now also fragmented and occupied by bots\dummies due to the war and many sites for international communication on russian lost a big part of frequent posters\mods and later effectively musk’ed themselves.

    Those I’ve heard the last:

imo > кмк > как мне кажется > what I suspect is
bf > мч > молодой человек > young partner
    wtf > чзх > что за хуйня > what's a dickshit
idk > хз > хуй (его) знает > dick knows (that)

A lot of newer words I googled after hearing it from kids came from TikTok and they are mostly translations of trends carried in by local influencers.

  • My guess: unresolved national tensions and probable separatism seeds + weakness of the state in the last year (Prigo’s march, Krokus, buryatian demonstrations against jailing a known activist) + 24\7 stream of hatred on TV + jealousy of more autonomous and supported regions. That’s not like there wasn’t any violence here, but recently it became more apparent with Mahachkala’s airport being crowded by a mob of locals to ‘meet’ people who arrived from Israel. This place becomes more dangerous and as you pointed out Moskow would likely ignore it. And it’s too random for a false flag, I believe.

  • I think this action lacked some supportive commentary, a spoken idea why they did it and what does it mean. It comes of as an attention bait without a clear message. It’s also too random to associate it with climate activism without a context.

After hearing about that I thought what would become our Stonehenge if we fail miserably (Statue of Liberty, like in Planet of the Apes?), or if we get back into a new Stone Age making this circular monument both the past and the future of humankind. I would not probably care that much if they actually damage it a bit if that’s for creating a powerful symbol, adding to it’s (contemporary) significance instead of taking from it. But that’s too much to ask, it seems, all we can do is orange paint.

  • It sounds like a clever provocation, and he probably made sure it catches attention before they can silently move it under the carpet. He didn’t do any crime, he even proposed compromises to make it seem OK and followed official procedures, so they can’t (now, publicly) presecute him by law, but it offended their homophobia that much they found nothing more clever than dropping him into a mental yard instead of, like, declining his idea for some made up reason. What’s that if not a high-risk high-reward prank activism? At least, we now know that the state of Pakistan loses it’s shit over him touching that nerve.
