I was referring to Joseph Campbell.
I was referring to Joseph Campbell.
Almost all of the Christian folklore surrounding Jesus can be directly tied to other myths that were common knowledge to Mediterranean people at the time.
There was a dude called Jesus, there were a lot of them. That one was Jewish and belonged to an evangelical cult was likely. But we can’t really say that because the Bible exists so too must have the Jesus described within.
What we have today was written by people hundreds of years after the fact. There was nothing written during these events, nothing at least that survived.
If you go looking for proof of Jesus, you’ll either come out disappointed, or delusional. Think of guys like Ken Ham.
Keep the faith, by all means. But part of believing is accepting that you don’t get to have proof.
I mean the anti vax campaign worked well for Russia, so why not sew doubt in preventive measures during a global health crisis?
I see a hot new name drop coming in.
That’s been a thing for a while.
When the military sees a problem that can only be solved by war crimes they literally just hire contractors to do them.
But you don’t have to be the US government to hire private companies to do war crimes for you. Any citizen* can hire private military contractors to go out and do war crimes for them.
*A citizen is anyone with a net worth of greater than 500 million dollars.
By jail do you mean getting fat bonuses?
It still works in highly technical areas.
Or if you’re a machinist someone will tell you the right way to do something as soon as they see you have the material. By the time you have it in the machine 6 other guys will have told you the right way to do it in six wildly different ways. Someone will suggest Vaseline instead of coolant. Someone will start bitching about Haas. Someone will insist that it’s only possible with thru spindle coolant, regardless of depth. None of which matters because your code won’t post to the 40 year old 3 axis mill you’re using and the engineer gave you a print with impossible geometry anyway. GEE I DON’T KNOW TERRY DO YOU THINK THIS HUNK OF STEEL LOOKS LIKE YOUR PART YET
Anyway my point is sometimes there’s more than one right answer, even if everyone says they have the one right answer.
Sometimes technical specifications limit you to a specific set of right answers, but the right answers you get are for different set ups entirely.
and sometimes, the circumstances surrounding your failure were given to you by the engineer in a state that was destined to fail, whether they knew it or not.
Any breed can produce a dog that is prone to snap.
Some breeds are much more likely to do so.
Of those, only a few are both prone to snap and large enough to hurt you.
Oh those, pit bills are far and away the most aggressive.
That said, most pitbulls really are fine. For being the most dangerous breed, there are millions of pitbulls, and a few thousand incidents over a few years.
I don’t ingest anything with ingredients I can’t pronounce.
Drinks mercury
GOD DAMN CAROL BASKINNNS
but for real she like, probably didn’t kill her husband.
I doubt it was tasteless. It probably tasted like screen
It’ll start to level off around 10 billion, in 35 years.
The thing about a growing population is that fewer people having babies has a diminished effect when there are so many more people. Each new pair having a slightly smaller chance of reproducing doesn’t matter when there are twice as many new pairs.
The population won’t decrease dramatically, save for some catastrophic event.
Every case is unique in one way or another.
The irony here is that the statue isn’t even Italian, is Greek. It was just found in Italy.
Interesting… So do countries of origin suddenly have a claim on artifacts that were plundered and shipped to foreign countries? Asking for a friend.
If you don’t make an edit, gulag
Here’s the problem, it doesn’t matter if it was or not. It does, but that’s a different issue.
My point is, how do you know it wasn’t trained on csam?
You can’t possibly. You can point to all the places where csam isn’t and say “we haven’t found any illegal images yet.” But you can’t say with 100% certainty that there are none.
And since you can’t prove that no csam is used to train the model, any argument beyond that point is moot. If this were almost any other issue I’d say eliminating 99.99% of the risk is completely valid and safe. But we’re not talking about a celebrity or a porn star. We’re talking about child victims of sexual assault, and to that end we should not accept anything other than absolute certainty. And because absolute certainty cannot exist, we should not simply accept it as a society.
Sure they’re entitled to something.
Coping mechanisms to help them not pursue that desire, or a first class ticket on a rocket to the sun.
There is no middle ground.
What were those models trained on?
That’s more than one a year. That can’t be right.
Looking at the Wikipedia for it, that number comes from a Washington Post country guide with absolutely no context or source to back it up. So I’m not confident that’s correct. The Wikipedia article itself details less than 30 coups. They have one every few years sure, but it’s not like every 9 months for 160 years someone was trying to overgrow the government.
