On the internet anyone and everyone is always right.

Actual insightful conversation on a variety of subjects. Especially current events, I notice this the most when discussing content updates in video games. While official forums exist a lot of the games I play essentially use their subreddit as a semi-official community with devs being active participants.

/r/eve and /r/pathofexile are great examples of this.

It’s hard to discount the success Reddit has had over the last decade or so positioning themselves as the “front page of the internet” giving people a forum to discuss all manner of subjects.

As I understand a lot of the hatred against Reddit and spez specifically comes from his attempts to monetize this phenomenon, not how effective/popular the site was.

But he got upvotes on the internet, clearly he is right.

Humans are fucking doomed.

Confusing people agreeing with you and being right is how your shitty country wound up with people like Marjorie Taylor Space Laser as an elected official.

Normal civilized armies have rules of engagement.

Like if the US claims you have nuclear weapons and the UN says you have no evidence your war is illegal, you do it anyways. Murika Fuk Yah!

That whole war was a glorified terrorist attack in my eyes.

He makes several good points and your basically just vomitting buzzwords and copypasta.

If you read the article they blamed this attack on the excessive amount of money the US spends arming foreign countries to protect their interests.

I don’t normally believe this kind of propaganda and ultimately the US didn’t pull the trigger, they just wrote the check that facilatated the purchase of the weapons. Kind of a guns don’t kill people the people who buy guns for other people kill people type argument.

You don’t think monetizing data means using it train AI?

Who cares what /u/cincinatticatlover69 thinks about the sandwich /u/someshittypopculturepun ate for lunch other AI looking to monitor human communication habits.

That just sounds like banning with more steps.

I think that’s part of why they stopped allowing third party apps, they were worried our (there?) data was going to be used to train AI. I assume whatever is restricting that, also restricts the search results.

Any phrase, request or threat in the from of “do X or be subject to the rules” is inherently flawed.

Why not skip the asking part and go straight to the enforcing the rules part because they’re, you know; the fucking rules.

I generally don’t like the CBC, but I personally find their international political reporting top tier due to this kind of approach.

I try not to keep up with social norms but this comment really perplexed me. I tend to subscribe to a very literal definition of the term racist.

This comment is inherently degrading to people and their culture based on the colour of their skin. That’s racism full stop, creating racism power rankings with thresholds where comments aren’t racist if you are disparaging a collectively agreed upon advantaged race doesn’t seem like the proper direction to be going if the goal is to stop racially motivated prejudice.
