Can I complain there are not enough Linux users?

Without wading into morality, one thing I think is lost on people is that Israel is seen as the “big fish”, and while they certainly have more advanced weapons, they’re just a little dot, surrounded by countries that host millions of people that openly want to commit genocide against them. 2 billion muslims overall vs. 20 million jews. The number of muslims who would openly state they would murder every jew by their own hand if they could outnumbers the amount of jews that would say the same by a vast margin, so… its complicated. If you were encircled by those who were potentially able, and motivated to erase your existence you might make some very questionable decisions too, its easy to judge those decision from the other side of the world while not facing any danger.

Its been weird, I feel like I’m kind of missing something, same kind of FOMO, but when I actually go back to it I see I’m not missing anything at all. Lemmy is pretty neat, but haven’t fully gotten the hang of it yet. Just discovered how to sub another instance today, so progress is being made.

I’ve been back to reddit probably 20 times in the past 3 months, and every time I’m waiting for the dopamine hit, and it never kicks in. Its just flat now, the content just isn’t that interesting. Its all pretty cringy, and I’m pretty much over it, just going there out of habit, chasing the content dragon that no longer exists.

Facebook is useless, Xitter is dead, reddit lost its way. I’m enjoying Lemmy so far, but it seems to be missing the viral content, ultra red-hot breaking news that reddit used to have.

Their citizens demanded it, any country would if they suffered the same attack. Its hard to say exactly what a reasonable response is. Between doing nothing, and nuking Gaza there is some reasonable, measured response. Either side could argue about what that is, but they can’t just do nothing, and take it lying down which seems to be what one side is suggesting is the only reasonable course of action.

I get the cynicism, but you have to trust someone. The DOD for all its faults has vastly more credibility than Hamas.

The gaslighting just won’t stop. Terrorists invaded Israel with the explicit purpose to commit genocide against jews, any attempt to fight back against that is criticized. A huge chunk of the whole world just seems to feel like Israel “deserved it”, and they should just take it lying down.

I know a Perl programmer who exclusively writes all SQL in pure lowercase with atypical indentation.
