More people should code Csound. Doesn’t matter if you’re musically inclined or not. Just do it. Make weird noises. Have fun!

Absolutely. I’m an ESL teacher in Korea, and getting my students to use prepositions properly is a significant portion of my job. The difference between something like “He is coming to you.” and “He is coming for you.” isn’t obvious at all if you think about it, but there are definitely proper and improper use cases for them.
Quite possibly. I don’t think I’ve ever had any Bluetooth device work without hiccups. My old earbuds used to disconnect or lose pairing all the time. A couple of game controllers I have only worked intermittently for years. My phone is always losing connection in our car. I’ve ironed out some of the problems, but I’ve never had Bluetooth just work for me.
It was pretty bad. He missed a lot of school. I think he ended up repeating grade six. I never saw him much after that, but I did hear that he got married to another person I went to school with eventually, so presumably his life wasn’t ruined or anything.
There was a solar eclipse when I was in grade six. One of my classmates was riding his bike home, and was stupidly looking at the eclipse, and got hit by a car. The irony.
Imma go blow some Chechnyan minds with my happy hardcore outfit that plays songs at 100bpm, but only plays 64th notes.
In university, I got a summer job as the single caretaker of a ~200 year-old church. I did everything from plastering the cracks in the walls to mowing the lawn. Anyhow, I also had to clean out the old coal bin. There wasn’t much left, but there was some. I also found newspapers from 1914 lining the bottom. That was pretty cool. There were no services there anymore, (no electricity or running water, either) so I was alone for 8 hours a day. I managed to read War and Peace at work that summer (I picked it because it was notoriously long, and I had so much down time when there wasn’t grass to be cut.) As far as minimum wage jobs go, it was pretty great. It was also a huge turn on for my girlfriend at the time who would visit in the afternoons sometimes. Haha!
My aging work PC (Xeon E3 1230V2) regularly stops booting, and this works for me. It had 16gb of memory, but I had to throw out one of the sticks. The other thing that gets it working again sometimes is tightening or loosening the CPU cooler screws. Thankfully, it’s old enough to still do the BIOs beep codes which tipped me off to the tightening the CPU fix. I’ve got some newer parts lying around (an AMD 2600x and 16gb of DD4) I’ll turn into a full PC when it finally dies, but for now it just keeps going and going.
Can ROMs be extracted from fitgirl repacks? I searched this question, and it pointed me to the Reddit MEGAthread. I found that through here, but I still can’t find an answer. Thanks!
I had a dream a few nights ago. I was a robot living in a society being taken over by this evil regime that was turning robots into humans. The leader of the regime lured me to the location where they were going to make me human. When he was dramatically revealed from behind the curtain - a split second after I realized I’d been tricked - he started towards me, and I kicked him in the junk as hard as I could!
Which was when I woke myself and my wife up because I’d kicked the shit out of the wall next to the bed. My big toe still hurts.
I may have harvested my beets a little late.
Well, for now I just right click my YouTube search results and open them up in YouTube instead where Ublock is already working fine.
it might be difficult here. I’m in Korea. ie the land of Samsung.
I am using Ublock Origin in Firefox, it still somehow slipped an ad in there.
Yes. I’m using the same search methods I’ve always used that used to get me relevant results, and I get a bunch of fucking sponsored links instead. I’ve noticed lately that if the result of a search is a YouTube video and I click on it, it doesn’t go to YouTube but opens up as a search result and plays me ads somehow bypassing my adblocker that works just fine in actual YouTube. More than once after the ad was done, the video refused to load, which was utterly infuriating.
Google assistant on my phone has also become garbage. They changed the functionality of the few key things I liked to use, and now it’s totally useless to me. Google is swirling down the shitter faster than yesterdays tacos. Honestly, if it wasn’t for email, photos, and using an Android phone, I’d probably be done with them entirely.
I’ve been using a pair of dual shock 4s for something like seven years now without any drift. I had to buy new stick tops because I wore them out.
OTOH, the dual sense I bought started drifting so badly, it was unusable after a year.
I’m about an hour into giving this circular cursor thing a try, and I think I’m a convert. You think it’d be hard to click on things given the overlap, but the color swap when you’re over an interactable really sells it. Thanks!
Then there’s Dark Souls 2 where very early in the game there’s a coffin that gives you the option to enter. Do so, and you come out the opposite sex you were when you went in.
Hmm. Korean kids have recently started saying “skibidi”. Meaning it’s probably old hat by now. Old hat… that’s how old I am…
