Neolibs sell us out to big oil just as much as neocons do. The root problem is capitalism. You cannot fight against climate change without fighting against capitalism

Is it not dehumanizing to call veterans psychotic? Seems a bit like kicking someone while they’re down. The military broke them enough, the last things veterans need is to be mocked, dehumanized and treated like creeps.
When I worked in healthcare there were days where I clocked in at 7am and was forced to keep working until 11pm without any lunch or dinner break. Worker rights in the US are almost completely non-existent and the way some workers get treated is hellish
These days, profits growing slower than anticipated (but still growing) is framed as losing money.
I am somehow extremely disappointed that people who support this obviously corrupt and evil little man also have talents like art, and music, and probably others.
Oh man, everytime I see a GPrime85 comic I am sad because the guy is legitimately talented and it hard to believe that a guy who is so talented could also have such stupid and contradictory takes: https://x.com/GPrime85/media
Considering how the US’s CIA will infiltrate leftist groups to undermine and break those groups up, would that make the US an authoritarian state? And if someone passively enables authoritarianism through complacency then does that not make them authoritarians by default?
Read up on Operation Gladio if you want a peak at how deeply fascist / authoritarian the US truly is: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Gladio
Couldn’t that be said of any and all groups? A few bad posters has soured me on the lemm.ee instance, but would it be logical or fair or me to assume that a few bad experiences reflects an entire group?
I am not from ML nor do I have a Hexbear alt of any sort, but I defend Hexbear’s right to be different. They seem to be a younger group of anti-capitalists so I find their perspectives interesting.
Edit: I am still somewhat new to Lemmy, so maybe there is some history with Hexbear that I am ignorant of, but until I see it for myself, I enjoy their content and will continue to support Hexbear.
Maybe, but I am boycotting all capitalist entities the best I can. If I need something I try to buy used or from worker co-ops or to check it out from a library or pirate it.
The global medical community had to beg the US to ban lead from consumer products like paint and gasoline for close to 80 years and our politicians kept taking bribes from lobbyists to ignore medical science… But did we learn from that and ban lobbying? Nope, lobbyists are now bribing politicians to ignore the plastic epidemic and global warming
Replace guillotine with imprison and lets include all the lobbyists, Super PAC members, super delegates, and politicians who accept money from foreign fascist states (like Russia and Israel)
Oh, sorry. Your joke went right over my head.
Eh, Dave Ramsey has some good advice but he also has some really terrible ideas so I strongly recommend going with someone else.
Clark Howard, the Money guy, and Jill Schlesinge are all many times better than Dave Ramsey.

Maybe, just maybe, the Americans who support Palestinians aren’t the same Americans who are support our genocidal military industrial complex.
70% of Americans want an immediate ceasefire. 75% Americans are opposed to any increases in military spending (56% want a decrease: https://afsc.org/news/most-us-adults-support-pentagon-spending-cuts). So please understand that the US government is a plutocracy that doesn’t represent the will of the American people anymore than Putin represents the majority of Russians.
Israel is also bribing our politicians. Our two-party political system is so corrupt it makes me sick to my stomach even thinking about it.
Also kinda shitty of those companies to charge educational instutions
It really is, but what can do? Capitalism exploits everything for profit.
That is sort of like complaining that people think of the US when they hear “school shooting”: The US has something like 20% of the world’s prison population and we likely use complete solidarity confinement more than any every other (developed) country combined together… So the term is rightfully US centric because, like school shootings, solidary confinement is far more of an issue in America.
"The European Court of Human Rights distinguishes between complete sensory isolation, total social isolation and relative social isolation[30] and notes that "complete sensory isolation, coupled with total social isolation can destroy the personality and constitutes a form of inhuman treatment which cannot be justified by the requirements of security or any other reason. " https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solitary_confinement
If the European courts find it important to distinguish between types of solidary confinement them I feel like posters should as well. Otherwise you can’t blame people for defaulting to the most commonly used type of solidarity confinement.
And the US has far more prisoners than Europeans do and we use solidary confinement far more often.
Too true. I would give my right hand to live in Europe rather than the US.
