“all your vscode extensions still work fine” is definitely not true. Sure a vast majority of them probably do, but certainly not all of them.
I still prefer it over full VS Code though.

Yeah, as soon as I read the second paragraph my thought was “buy your own router”. Problem solved.
If you can hard wire an ESP32 via Ethernet that would probably be best. You could also get better latency with an ESP32 over WiFi. However, a ZigBee button should be pretty low latency already.
Anecdotally I get perceptibly instant response from an ESP32 over WiFi.

I agree that Hue bulbs are expensive compared to others but they generally are considered some of the best bulbs for color accuracy and build quality. I’ve considered getting Hue bulbs before but definitely wont be now.

I periodically go through my bookmarks and purge ones I haven’t accessed in a while because they’re not actually serving any purpose.
Just encrypt your drives and don’t tell anyone the password.

Yes, as long as you use the restore
option, if a timer were to finish while Home Assistant is offline, when it starts up again the event will fire and any automations listening for the event will be triggered. Timers are incredibly powerful.

I just had several Reolink cameras installed as well and like them a lot. I plan on spinning up a Frigate instance soon but read somewhere that Reolink cams don’t work great for that. Will see how what goes soon.
