US backs down
Does the US back down? We definitely double down

For reference here are inflation rates YOY since 2017:
2017 2.10%
2018 1.90%
2019 2.30%
2020 1.40%
2021 7.00%
2022 6.50%
2023 3.40%
Just to make up for the last three years of inflation they would need +16.9% instantly. Assuming +2% inflation over those 4 years (which is the average but not right now) that means from 2020 to 2028 inflation rose 26.3% so if they started a +25% increase over 4 years this year, the workers would have the same spending power they had in 2020.
Data is from the bureau of labor statistics
The jab uses messenger RNA (mRNA), similar to Covid-19 vaccines, and works by presenting the immune system with tumour markers from NSCLC to prime the body to fight cancer cells expressing these markers.
Tumor markers have traditionally been proteins or other substances that are made at higher amounts by cancer cells than normal cells. These can be found in the blood, urine, stool, tumors, or other tissues or bodily fluids of some patients with cancer. I am not a MD or anything but from what I can tell based on the tumor marker described above it sounds like it would work pretty much the same as the covid vaccine? Maybe the proteins build up like plaque and the mRNA just stops the protein production gene expression? Again I do not know a ton about cancer.
I’m so tired of hearing this about America, we have one of the most diverse countries in the world. I understand the narrative that the media shows the world, the most horrendous of Americans (which are the smallest groups) get a totally disproportionate amount of media time because of their awful actions. A majority of the population tries to be decent human beings, of course bias exists subconsciously and people aren’t aware of it.
I am in the SE region of the US, which everyone loves generalizing as the most ignorant and racist area. I have seen true racist when I was delivering pizzas and my coworkers were black, it was horrendous. I can assure you the racists are a minority and a shrinking one at that. Not only that but it is exceedingly rare that they are under 50 years. Not only both of those things but both millennials and gen Z call out that shit immediately.
It really starts to wear on you when you actively try to fight these things and everyone still only sees your country as full of racists. Yes they exist but it is a shrinking minority.
Watched the debate, this is a verbatim quote I pulled from the transcript, Biden: “And if I’m elected, I’m going to restore Roe v. Wade.” Why does he have to wait for re-election?
I expect Reps. to strip rights and will always blame them for that. The flip side of that is I expect Dems. to restore them, which isn’t happening and so they should be criticized. It’s just always “we’ll fix it in the future” which is why I put the biden quote in.
Oh yeah that’s absolutely fair! I mainly threw this comment up because it’s super fresh news so I was hoping to help spread it a bit.
I hate that it took this long but the aid package cleared the house and is expected to clear the Senate. This just happened yesterday https://www.npr.org/2024/04/21/1246170238/ukraine-military-assistance-house-vote-mike-johnson-volodymr-zelenskyy
I buy my meds from his online store that he set up solely to compete with the absurd pricing of pharmaceuticals in the us. Saving a good bit too. He also made millionaires of most of the employees from his first successful business before he was a billionaire. I hate billionaires and he has surely done some fucked up things, but Mark Cuban does seem to be cut from a different cloth. I definitely appreciate his pharmacy.
It’s honestly more that investing in a company that hasn’t been profitable for 20 years and has had the CEO admit they don’t know how to properly turn a profit doesn’t strike me as a good investment.
I’m not saying you should get out, your money is your business of course but you may want to look at how other IPOs performed immediately after release. The ones I know of are CRSR(CORSAIR GAMING), OLPX(OLAPLEX), and RR(RICHTECH ROBOTICS). All three of these spiked dramatically up after the initial offering, then crashed to less than half the price of the initial offering ( except CRSR which is at offering price currently).
Now these aren’t the same industries of course so things could differ but I would be surprised if it did. The selling of data for LLMs(AI) is very limited IMO mainly because the more AI generated content reddit has the worst the model will be for the LLMs and AI content is pretty high right now. RDDT just does not have good fundamentals for an investment, public sentiment is super low already and now viable alternatives are popping up like lemmy. I am also sure that now they are public reddit will only get shittier for the user leading to a lost base.
I am not a financial advisor, this is just my opinion. I would personally get out relatively soon after you capture some profits and not look back. Again I’m not trying to tell you what to do but I would strongly consider these things. Best of luck and I hope you get some nice gains from it!
You invested in reddit?
Yeah Israel has been horrendous recently and did not give an appropriate response. There are decades of history and for the most part they just take turns committing war crimes. Israel has been a victim in the past, that doesn’t justify what’s currently going on but it’s foolish to pretend that Israel has always been the bully.
French people are reason #1
I started looking into options recently because of the IPO tomorrow haha. I won’t do it because it’s too risky and I’m too new to investing but I think a lot of money could be made on puts. I bet RDDT drops 50% within 2 years, I also think the fediverse will pose a significant threat to their market share within 5 years.
So to be fair it’s not like all patents are" I have an idea and I want to stop others from using it". Many are companies submitting technical documentation that the company spent millions of dollars to develop, they should get a head start on using it. After the patent expires everyone can use the tech that the original developer may have kept as trade secret instead. Of course they can be abused like most other things but there is definitely a use case for patents.
For USPS they have a list of verified hemp vendors, they tried a couple years ago to open packages suspected of marijuana without a warrant. The outcome was it doesn’t matter if they suspect it, you still have to get a warrant. So now if a vendor is a certified hemp vendor they can’t touch it. Now UPS and FedEx are private companies so they can do pretty much whatever they want, that’s why almost all hemp shipments go through USPS. I’m paraphrasing a lot but that’s the gist of it. USPS is currently and has been the largest drug dealer in the country, even with omitting hemp because with the volume they process you could never catch them all and every other drug doesn’t have a pungent smell like weed.
While we haven’t had AR15s for that long, full autos were legal for private ownership prior to 1986
Holy shit is that the reason why Jareth gets so pissy when Sarah says it again down in the tunnels and sends in the cleaners?
