You shouldn’t have to pay for something which there is no scarcity of. A haircut takes time and effort, so you should pay for it. Food is not unlimited, so you should pay for it. You can’t do that, the fediverse and Lemmy software doesn’t work that way.

There are unfortunately not enough people that hold this opinion, too many are trigger happy on defederating from those they don’t like.

Like you say, there can be some legitimate reasons, such as bot servers, and I would add if a big company created an instance to take it over and kill the federation.

But too many simply do it because they disagree with what the people in an instance are saying, and that hurts the federated nature of the fediverse.

Even if what you’re saying is true, and nowhere exists on Earth where there is a high quality of life, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t aim to get there.

It would indeed be logical for all these things, including seasons, to fear the reaper if they do feel emotions (which there is no way to know one way or another), as they all depend on the sun existing, and the sun will blow up in about 4 billion years, so seasons, the sun, the wind, and the rain will succumb to the reaper like the rest of us.
