I do this for music, have a tiny batch script that I mostly borrowed from some other stack exchange post that I just dump the URL and the name of the file and it converts it to mp3 and dumps it into a folder. I use it to get music to DJ with for small house parties. yt-dlp is great highly recommend it for anyone

If they were smart they’ll make sure it does. I have done this before…tried a game by pirating, bought it, realized my save doesn’t work, refunded it, and just went back to playing the pirated copy. You could take that route too just make sure you’re buying on a platform that will allow you to refund no questions asked within a certain period
