  • There are two types of early voting.

For in person voting, the local election board opens up fewer voting locations before the election. If approved, you can vote there and then instead. A lot of states eliminated any requirements to early voting after Covid.

For mail-in voting, the ballot gets mailed through USPS to voters. The ballots are usually supplied with an envelope with a way to verify identity, usually with signature. From there, the voter has the option to either mail the ballot back or directly deliver it to specific drop boxes.

  • The formation of television in the USA was different than for movies. The early cameras were incredibly large, required close access to transmission equipment, and needed high ends technical staff to maintain it. Also, Rockefeller Center was built in NYC for the express purpose of being a television studio, the first of its kind in the world.

So, a lot of early television was done on various stages. Since Broadway was nearby, TV companies pulled a lot of theatre acting talent to make television shows. Because these people were used to performing in front of an audience, they brought audiences with them.

Scripted comedies ended up being holdouts in switching to non-audience filming because it was thought that the live audience made the viewing experience better for the television audience. People watching alone could laugh with the audience.

    1. You’ve now put up a paywall on Facebook for new users. Worse, a lot of new users are likely not going to have a banking account in their name, so there is nothing to verify except maybe a location of bank.
    2. Banks do not verify identity for people online. The few companies that do verification are major tech companies, but then Meta may not want to force users to build up an account elsewhere before making an account on their website.
    3. All email verification does is verify that a person has an email address. It does not verify that the email address is for a person.
