I’m wondering what Kim gets from this though?

Is it a possibility that shill accounts are using sports subreddits to obfuscate the fact that they are still accounts? Like “Hey there fellow citizens, I’m totally a normal poster and a red blooded American who really likes sports!”.
I mean you can see it happening here. How many cyber armies do you think are starting to pop up on Lemmy, from the US, from China, from Russia. How many corporate astroturfers do you think are coming on here, apple dicksuckers, etc. shit, mainstream media is trying to dip it’s toes into federated spaces.
Edit: a word, added an -ing
Addendum: Do you guys think that defederation campaigns can be weaponized? Isolate and destroy type stuff? Creating bubbles that can be easily analyzed and manipulated?
I will add though that FOSS principles do tend to align more closely with the principles of non-commodification, collaboration, voluntary contribution, community-ownership, and free access to knowledge, which “can be” associated with socialist or Marxist ideals.
That’s the thing, I think they’re all just regular people with more radical views on politics. I feel as if this recent fad of “dead internet theory” which posits the majority of the net is filled with bots, is really an attempts by certain groups to dismiss certain online communities/dismiss the idea that these communities are indicative of some sort of wider trend within society, which is really what I think is an attempts to gain control of what is seen as consensus reality online, dehumanize the other side, and justify the suppression/repression of certain ideas, opinions, and groups.
If you’re claiming they are bots, I don’t think that’s the case. Judging from the little threads I’ve been reading throughout this post, it seems as if Lemmy was created by some diaspora of Marxists from reddit after reddit banned their stuff. If this is true, you’re not interacting with bots, you would be interacting with actual Marxists. People.
Maybe one day instead of [Insert Search Query] Reddit, it will instead be [Insert Search Query] Lemmy
Edit Addendum: Might be cool if people got their old tech support posts from reddit, ask the question that was asked in a post, and then answer their own post with the answer that they gave that solved the issue.
Ehh tru. I’m just saying, that even if they wanted to help, they’d have their hands tied in other ways too.
I mean there’s probably other reasons Iran can’t really help the Palestinians. More practical reasons having to do with logistics, economy, cost, geopolitics, potential consequences/sanctions, etc.
Oh wait it’s not genocide because it doesn’t fit their definition! As if ethnic cleansing is any better than genocide.
Might be a good time to arm up(unless you’re mentally ill in a way that will make you hurt yourself or make you hurt others before any actual conflict has begun). Just in case of course.
Edit/Addendum: If you have kids, please get a gun case and please educate them about proper gun safety and how to properly check if there’s any ammunition in chamber, etc. In fact, might as well take a gun safety course yourself.
I don’t know man, nukes aren’t a risk anyone is willing to take.
Horrible shit, but might be the right conditions to conduct a study on how use of deep fakes can affect political elections. The results may be rather interesting and perhaps contribute to greater societal awareness of deepfakes, the context in which they are used/when they are used, and perhaps an increase in vigilance against manipulation by deepfakes.
Tbh, it wasn’t as bad as the picture of that woman with the kinda lopsided eyes lol
It would be funny if you just started calling it coconut malk instead of milk. Literally just changing the word milk by one letter.
Sure, but still, if you’re visibly sick you should wear a mask. It’s respectful. I mean shit the Japanese have been doing that shit since forever and you don’t see their asses complaining.
I thought it was a joke about future millennial/zoomer grandparents.
Nicotine by itself isn’t really that bad, as it isn’t much of a carcinogen. The sharp increase of nicotine in vapes is troubling though, as although it isn’t much of a carcinogen, it does increase risk of heart disease and can lead to hardening of the heart in the long run.
My thought is maybe either food or arms or research for arms production/nukes from the Russians.
Edit Addendum: the article says as much actually lol. This is what I get for just trying to get an idea of NK actions from the title.
