  • Community points isn’t supposed to be valuable. This is about making people start a vault/wallet and engage in crypto in a way that is fun and non threatening. They already tried it with the avatars but I doubt it got a whole lot of traction. At some point the real crypto currency will appear and suddenly reddit will have a platform with a couple of millions users that already has a wallet set up and ready. That will make reddit one of the biggest crypto platforms on the internet.

This is also what the API thing was about. Third party apps didnt/couldn’t include the vault on their apps so a lot of user didn’t even know the vault existed until now.

  • I didn’t say anything about cultural wars. I specifically avoided the issue in my example. Getting really upset because some wrote something is not a good thing for real life IMO, doesn’t matter who wrote what (provided it’s not news, of course). Part of a good society is the old adamant “I don’t agree with you at all but will defend your right to say it”.

Who are getting upset at things being written? What does that mean and what does it have to do with vulnerability? You’re doing the fucking boomer shit that kids are too sensitive these days while not specifying what the problem is What is the problem? Be a tough guy and say what you think instead of dressing it up in vague bullshit.

  • If this was done against you or someone you liked, you would not make those arguments. If they replaced spez with a rainbow flag you would immediately identify it as a hate crime and a call to violence, because it fucking is. You can argue that spez isnt harmed by these kinds death threats and should just allow them on r/place but at least be honest with your fucking opinions.
