It’s contagious. I caught the Linux over the weekend. It’s the Kubuntu strain of the disease, so I think it’s a mild case. But there’s always a risk it can spread to full-blown Arch.

Well, welcome to Lemmy! I don’t think you’re going to make a whole lot of friends around here based on your comment history… but I’m glad for you that you left that crap factory. I’ve been here for a little over a year now, no regrets.
Well, as an atheist I’m not a huge fan of biblical names either
Man, that’s a stupid name. Poor kid permanently tied to a pop culture reference. Two, if the Loki is referring to Marvel. Naming a kid is not an opportunity to express yourself. If you want people to know you like star wars, get a tattoo. Or a bumper sticker. And then I’ll judge you. But leave the kid out of it.

I have a schnauzer + poodle = schnoodle named Ziti.
Yeah, for sure! I, for one, am a student of Sir Mix-A-Lot.
They toss it, and leave it. And I pull up quick to retrieve it.
Never count fish as one! That’s such a disservice to fish. Salmon, tuna, red snapper, swordfish, catfish, they are all delicious in their own way and have unique textures. And don’t forget scallops and other delicious mollusks!
I have a few things to post lined up, they are projects in varying stages of completeness. I definitely want to be more of a poster than a lurker here. I feel like it’s our responsibility to help Lemmy thrive.
How on earth do I keep my photos from rotating in all of these?
I take a picture on my phone in portrait. I upload it, it’s rotated to landscape. I look at the EXIF, pic on my phone says it’s rotated 90. If I delete that, it rotates to landscape. What do I need to do to keep it vertical?
I’m not a rich techie, but I guess my view is that I am in STEM. It’s what I understand, and what I value. STEM is produces things of usefulness and monetary value. STEM is facts and numbers.
Where art is based around feelings. I don’t understand that, and I don’t value that. I do value industrial design, like the work of Henry Dreyfus. His streamlined New York Central Hudsons, the Eversharp Skyline, and the round Honeywell thermostat are excellent examples of attractive and useful things. So is Ikea furniture. That’s my art. The Junghans Max Bill is another great example of great industrial design.
Again, I’m not a rich techie. Just a mechanical engineer. But there may be some crossover, who knows.
I got a good chuckle out of that. Nice.
