You’re saying my intentionally over simplified example to get a point across wasn’t perfect? Amazing analysis…
Do you go by the nickname Captain Obvious with your friends?

It takes a ton of bravery to be a whistle blower when others aren’t dying like 80 year old diabetes patients. It’ll take even more now, and I hope there are more. Boeing needs to be kicked in the bags.
Thank you, I can’t take credit for it. I got it out of the book Everybody Lies.
That was a great read! Not something I’ve heard of before. Thank you!
And yeah it’s related for sure.
Don’t be fooled by randomness. Randomness comes in clumps. For example if you flipped a thousand coins every day for a year and measured how each one predicted the stock market, heads for up, tails for down, at the end of the year you’ll likely have one coin that far out performs the average. But would you use that coin to determine your investment strategy the next year?
And yeah Boeing is now killing people outside of their planes.
On track I’ve been up to 156, but I run out of road in my car and need to break at the end of the straight. 5th, 6th and 7th are all overdrive gears in my car and the intense acceleration transitions to normal car levels over 140mph sadly.
I am considering selling it and getting a faster one next year.
Because I don’t want too. Without taking the time to dig up resources John Oliver put it best that speed limits were decided on not by science or safety standards but what appears to be random guessing.
That said I follow rules, 10 over on low traffic interstate and highways, 5 over on low traffic main roads, speed limit everywhere else.
And pretty sure I read outside of impaired or distracted driving the thing that kills or injures most drivers is trying to make the yellow, not speed.
Works great for me, never had an issue. I use it for AI generated images regularly on my laptop and desktop.
For reals! Then the young races introduce themselves and we demand they dab as an introduction lol
Yup, all the evidence scientists point to agree that if anything we are early to the party.
And painful if it’s like that. Meeting twice a week is not agile, Janet! Lol
I’m not sure they do have anything that looks like typical corporate America, but I don’t know a lot more. I know at Microsoft everybody reported to him and from what I’ve been able to piece either that’s not changed we Valve. But he obviously doesn’t “manage” everybody, so how he does it I’m not sure.
Most organizations are just a dictatorship by another name if we use the definition in The Dictators Handbook which states keep your essentials and influentials small in quantity so you can pay them for results. A democratic environment those groups are many so you can only win them over with policy and influence. I feel like he runs his organization like the second but I want to know more. A lot more.
I feel you, my thoughts on my voice are the same. Berry White in my head, Steve Urkel in the streets. But my wife of 20s lives with it so all good!
Organizational structure can be seen as just style points. Gabe Newell of Valve famously does not do organizational structure. He didn’t when he worked at Microsoft and he doesn’t now. It’s also been said per capita/employee no other tech company makes as much money as Valve.
I hope he writes a book about it or something. As an executive at a large organization I’d love to know more and try to run my division like he does. But I don’t want to just make it up as I go along…
Google seems to say both… Let’s call Unsolved Mysteries and ask them to investigate!
Wait, did I just date myself?
Pretty sure the man’s name was, wait for it… Caesar.
Not that this is adding anything but I’ve been hit three times by big trucks that “didn’t see me”.
The first time my wife and I were driving home from a date and he came from behind and just came into my lane and destroyed the left side of my car. He was a good guy and agreed it was his fault and the insurance worked out great.
The second time my wife and I were on our way to a concert and the same thing he came him behind except he also pushed me into a parked car destroying both sides of my car and almost ripped off my front left tire. This fucker lied to his insurance and because we had no witnesses I ended up paying for the rental and deductible. I also installed dash cams after.
The third time I was driving home from seeing one of my kids (they’re all adults) and stopped on the interstate in stop and go traffic. This guy rear ended me. When e pulled over he swore I stopped suddenly for no reason and was driving like an idiot. We called the cops and I showed him the video where I stopped due to traffic and the guy was at least 200 yards away when I did this PLAYING ON HIS DAMN PHONE! Needless to say the cop was on my side.
Note: My small cars are sports cars, so not exactly environmentally as kind as a smart car, but I still am concerned with these giant vehicles that are just begging to hurt people. I think they should follow the same regulations as buses. Put giant ass mirrors on the front on them like school buses and all, require a higher level license just to be able to drive them and so on.
If you drive it in the Pacific area and every time you die your car saves you and takes you back to the garage, yes!
Driving my mostly broken car badly as the door pops open when I shift into drive.
The book Everybody Lies looks at search data and based on that the racism was the same but outwardly admitting it has changed. It went from saying we’re not in polite company to being loud about it.
