My go to page when looking for app suggestions is privacytools.io although its focused on privacy there’s a lot of overlap with open source.

I’ve been using Rawtherapee, just make sure you are using the latest version (5.9) since it added a bunch of functionality.
Same here, it had been several months where I felt that the general quality had been declining. As soon as the AMA was done and nothing was answered I deleted the app (RiF).
Sadly I still miss some niche communities, but I’ve been finding substitutes

If someone steals a GPL project what can be done to demonstrate that it’s stolen and not just very similar but their own creation?
