“Wait, the news is breaking? Why aren’t you trying to fix it, if it’s broken.”
For context, this was indeed a response on Snap, where they do not allow you to install deb files under the latest Ubuntu 24.04. Unless you use the command line, which of course I understand. Just run: apt install <deb>. However, my point is that an average Ubuntu user is now unable to easily install Deb files under Ubuntu, which is insane. Especially, because Ubuntu is build on top of Debian.
Why is the text weirdly alternating between bold and normal?

I love me some Linux, but I’m going to need an explaining, that’s a little deep of a cut for me.
Well, you don’t need to understand all of the context; I just spotted melroy in the wild, that’s all.
Who’s melroy?
One of the maintainers (and possibly the founder) of mbin, a fork of kbin, which is a fediverse platform that combines lemmy and microblog while lookin’ gr8. The fork is actually maintained and has actual versions and changelogs while kbin has 3 other very great features and extremely sporadic maintainership (kbin.social, their flagship instance, is currently down as I speak.).
Owh he knows. @debounced@kbin.run is also a Mbin developer :D
I’ll do YOU one better: WHY is @melroy@kbin.melroy.org?
Who am I? That is also a question I sometimes ask myself to be honest.
