Hmm sensing similarities to that other thread where the gen z person was saying millennials always complain about them. What if some predictable percentage of people regardless of the time they were born are assholes?

It’s a funny line from The Good Place don’t overthink it. As a millennial I had to endure like 20 years of “entitlement” and “the me me me” generation nonsense. Boomers can take a joke once in a while. Unless of course this joke is particularly axcurate, in which case it’s just proving the point.

Also, millennials are punching up at a caricature here. It’s not millennials blaming Gen Z for their problems. Very different dynamic.

I’m a millennial too. You’re right, there were definitely people saying we suck, aren’t hard workers, it’s our own fault for not doing well financially, etc. I’m just saying that wasn’t all the boomers in the same way all millennials aren’t giving gen z shit. But those sorts of claims drive engagement, from upset people in both demographics, so that’s why the narrative keeps popping up.

I posted this because it was a very funny scene from the good place and this is 196. I don’t hate all boomers. It’s a low stakes generalized joke.

Millennials were called the participation trophy generation. At that time we were children. I would like to point out that SOMEONE was giving them to us. We didn’t ask for them, SOMEONE felt the need to give them to us.

Boomers, you can’t give us trophies and then complain that we got them.
