      This could actually happen if :

      1.each panel of the comic is its own file. ( highly possible )

      1. The panel are stored on an unrooted android phone

      2. She lose her phone data and she has no backup.

      3. She uses a file recovery app like DiskDigger

      4. The app recover a low-resolution thumbnail of the panel.

        I’d guess the file in question was from a drawing software like Clip Studio Paint, where the layers and panels would be stored separately so you could corrupt just one of them.

          I agree. You can see the initial sketch overlayed there, so definitely a wip with multiple layers.

      ive had photos fuck up like this before. no clue why it happens. it was also on a old phone i used to have and only on that phone
