DnD players: “why can’t I sleep with my armor on?”
I mean, I’ve fallen asleep with my reenactment armor on, but it’s always been unplanned, not very useful for rest, and always regretted after.
But if it’s just chainmail and a gambeson, I don’t really see why not.
I’m very much talking about plate armor
I’ve slept in plate armor, so it’s obviously not impossible. Just extremely undesirable.
FUN FACT: Joan of Arc slept in her armor sometimes. It caused severe bruising when she did.
Huh I thought knights on duty did sleep with their armor on. To be ready at all times etc
It sounds to me like people on duty and people sleeping should not have any overlap hahaha
You sure can sleep with your armour on. And you can even gain a point of exhaustion when you wake up!
Eh Xanathar’s Guide codified this and its FAR more forgiving than that. A long rest in armor simply means you don’t LOSE a point of exhaustion.
Tunic, Arming jack, chainmail, gambeson? And finally a surcoat.
Oof you can feel how hot that will be.
Hot and well protected. It’s all one could wish to be, really.
