“in the biggest mass abduction from a school since 2021” Insanity. I though Nigeria was meant to be the stable one.

Why are these called “gunmen” and not terrorists?

Is it because you can only terrorize white people?

Kidnappings for ransom by armed men have become endemic in northern Nigeria, disrupting daily lives and keeping thousands of children from attending school.

A terrorist uses terror for political ends. It sounds from the article as if this is more a matter of kidnapping for money. It’s not clear whether they are associated with Boko Haram or any other political group.

Wait is this hamas? Or just another Muslim group kidnapping girls to rape. I’m sensing a theme here.

Yeah, fuck people who abuse children and women, or well, anyone.

Israel/oPt: UN experts appalled by reported human rights violations against Palestinian women and girls 19 February 2024

Oh wait "against Palestinians" ? Oh-oh

“We are particularly distressed by reports that Palestinian women and girls in detention have also been subjected to multiple forms of sexual assault, such as being stripped naked and searched by male Israeli army officers. At least two female Palestinian detainees were reportedly raped while others were reportedly threatened with rape and sexual violence,” the experts said. They also noted that photos of female detainees in degrading circumstances were also reportedly taken by the Israeli army and uploaded online.

I dont think that is a fair equivalence. The mexican cartels dont do what they do in the name of Christianity. Boko Haram on the other hand, does kidnap and traffic kids and murder people in the name of Islam. From wikipedia

their main goal was to “purify”, meaning to spread Sunni Islam, and destroy Shia Islam in northern Nigeria"

On 14–15 April(2014), Boko Haram kidnapped 276 schoolgirls from Chibok, Borno. Shekau(Boko Haram’s leader) announced his intention of selling them into slavery.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boko_Haram

Boko Haram is less of an issue nowadays and hopefully these kids are just kidnapped for ransom, but Boko Haram normalized this practice and still exists(and their allies).

What? He literally mentioned Muslims as though it’s unique to them.

Saying it’s not unique to them is not whataboutism, lol.

I see you a lot on these forums, and you always have something asinine to say so I’m just gonna block you.

          Goodbye!

Interesting! I looked this up as I never heard the cartels as Christian.

The top news reports like a long line of priests and cardinals they’ve blown away so I’m guessing it’s not a major priority. Mexico is catholic so I guess a few might be religious.

Basically though, no, I disagree that it’s the same level of sexual violence as these Muslim groups.

          Yeah, it’s actually way worse.
